"i Don't Like Newer Emo"
i'm lying when i say that don't believe me |
1 | | The Brave Little Abacus Just Got Back From The Discomfort
i am seriously obsessed with this album right now. just every single moment is so
perfect, and so important in the scheme of the whole album. it's like a cohesive
experience showcasing these guys lives, it's one of the most sincere albums i have
ever heard. the guy's voice, the guitar, the synth, the drums, the horns, OMG THE
HORNS, everything about this is perfect and i highly recommend it to any fan of
emo.
extremely unique and beautiful record. |
2 | | The World is a Beautiful Place... Whenever, If Ever
one of my fave newer emo records, it's post-rock influenced and it's really well
written lyrically and musically. plus white knights of trve emo declare this band as
'wiener rock' so there's another reason to love them. |
3 | | Dads American Radass (This Is Important)
REALLY fucking derivative band, but it doesn't matter cause the jams on this thing
are so damn good. it basically sounds like every 'twinkly' band ever but the songs
are well written (some more than others) and it has a lot of fun charm to it. plus
Shit Twins is a 10/10 song and one of my fave things to come out of the whole
'emo
revival' scene. |
4 | | Hit The Pigeon Boy! It's a Pretty Dark Place to Leave a Piece of Light
emo jams from ISRAEL, like most emo/skramz jams over there the guy has a real
nasally voice but w/e it has a lot of personality and this 4 song EP has SAXOPHONE
omg it rules hard mostly cause sax but just some triumphant twinkles from the east. |
5 | | Bonjour Machines Level Up!
more emo jams from israel except fucking incredibly brilliant like this is one of
the best emo records in the last 5 years no doubt. dude has a unique set of pipes
and aghhhhhh it's real good just jam it. |
6 | | Adventures Adventures
some more indie rock/emo type jams in the vein of The Get Up Kids and such, also 3
members of Code Orange (Kids). OH and also fucking AMAZING. |
7 | | Baton Rouge Totem
the 'emo' tag doesn't really do this justice cause it has a lot of influence from
post-rock, post-hardcore, and even a lil bit of jam rock in there too. one of my
faves from 2014 and a really well written and well rounded album from Italy. |
8 | | Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) What It Takes to Move Forward
yeayeayea u should all know this one and if u don't JAM IT it's one of the best 'emo
revival' albums and it's v emotional and shit. |
9 | | Malon Portraits Of Dying
more skramzy but also mostly emo and i guess twinkly??? but HOLY SHIT it's so sad
omg one of the most depressed records i've heard probably like wow very sad band.
but also really good!!! really really good jam this pls. |
10 | | Merchant Ships For Cameron
fuck sea. this album is super important and super fucking good and if u don't like
it u don't have a HEART. oh yea it's kinsella inspired screamo or that's what treb
said i don't fucking know. |
11 | | Morning Effort I heard you the first time, it just wasn't funny
really no better way to describe this than "Everything you love -- or hate -- about
bedroom emo in less than ten minutes." |
12 | | Two Knights A Lot of Bad Things Happened, But We're Still Here
but OMGGGG they're v sad it's a good thing there are only 2 of them to be sad. but
SERIOUSLY these guys fucking rule i saw them live with elvis depressedly and alex g
and omg they brought so much energy, i mean even though they sound kinda
generic
twinkly they actually are pretty hype and talented instrumentalists and put on a
great show with lots of SKRAMZ and EMOTIONAL CATHARSIS or something. and
they closed
with A Dime Is A Titan (far and ahead their best song) and it fucking RULEEED. |
13 | | Studying Sophomoronic
.......AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH roadtrips and family vacation and
twinkly
guitars and scratchy voices and sadness and tears and PERFECTION so many
feelings
and horns and dreamy things and more feelings and acoustic guitar for a lil bit and
then crescendos yknow just the reg. music is p good too. |
14 | | Age Sixteen Open Up Finders, Please
like if Suis La Lune was fronted by MC Ride. |
15 | | Human Hands Human Hands
newWw emo that does not sound like new emo. sounds kinda like indian summer??
or
stuff like that, 90s stuff, real good. |
16 | | Patch Kit I Think I'm Going To Throw Up
the chick from The New And Very Welcome is STILL SAD but now she's got a FULL
BAND
and it's kinda like pop punk/indie type stufffff first song is kinda upbeat and fun
which is sweeeeet but rest is kinda ;_: but still sweet af. |
17 | | Told Slant Still Water
this album (even tho i am NOT a fan of the production) restored a lot of faith i had
lost in newer emo with just fucking super heartfelt and just REAL shit like no
bullshit or w/e this one is real like...real?? or something i mean that's just how i
felt about it. the music here is awesome and dude has a cool unique voice but I
WILL
SAY they sound SO much better live cause like the loud parts of the record are
ACTUALLY FUCKING LOUD and it works way better that way and has a lot more of a
climactic feeling than just slowly moving through the whole album. this album is
real good but if these guys write some more dynamic music they have the potential
to
do something really really special. |
18 | | Foxing The Albatross
uhhhh it's got horns and climaxes and stuff it's great what else do u want |
19 | | Sport Colors
the Frenchies making emo FUN (in a way that doesn't suck donkey dong) |
20 | | Old Gray An Autobiography
lol jk this band sucks |
|
