12.15.23 | You into Dierks Bentley at all? I've always liked "Domestic, Light and Cold" by him, and his Hot Country Knights side project is a ton of fun too
For older stuff (pre-80s), the Amazing Rhythm Aces have a ton of good stuff too- they did the original version of "Third Rate Romance"! Oh and of course Waylon Jennings if you don't already know him, pretty much that whole 70s run is legendary |

12.15.23 | sup fam. Always gotta drop in for any country list. Lots of obscenely great stuff in here. Love the Sanford Clark inclusion, amongst others.
Some rec's:
The Louvin Brothers - Satan is Real (more bluegrass, but still amazing)
Ernest Tubb's Definitive Collection
Any of the Lead Belly or Blind Willy Johnson stuff, for a little more early folk/blues vibe
Kitty Wells
Lefty Frizzell |

12.16.23 | Nice list. Also check out
Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas, 50s-mid 60s Webb Pierce, been really into early Capitol Faron Young (Sweethearts or Strangers, This is Faron Young!, etc), The Texas Troubador albums which showcase the musicianship of Ernest Tubb's Band.. Same thing with The Cherokee Cowboys album too. Hank Locklin's got some great stuff... oh yeah, Roy Drusky's got some great stuff, smooth singer but beautiful. Also been digging Mel Tillis' early career stuff (his first album with Capitol, then his Kapp Records albums). Sorry all over the place, but love handing out recs too!! |

12.16.23 | @pitchfork I'm a fan, I enjoyed the direction of his last album. Think he's got a lot of potential
Thanks for all the recs everyone, I'll be going through it all. Also realized I didn't put any George Strait or Bob Wills on this list which is a shame as a texan |

12.18.23 | Just chiming in to suggest the song "For Rent" by Patsy Cline - I had never heard it and the version I go to on Spotify is a live take, but jeez it's great! |
