Computer Music

I've never done an Electronic/Dance/Techno list, and this is the best I could do on my first try. I had to throw in some industrial and trip- hop to fill this list out a bit. Pretty sad, really.
1Air
Moon Safari

There are quite a few albums like this one, and yet there are no albums like
this one. No lounge album can match this in influence.
2The Art of Noise
(Who's Afraid Of?) The Art of Noise!

Chinzy 80's new age/electronica. Don't ask me why this is so catchy with
its cog-churning beats and sensual flow...I really couldn't tell you.
"Moments In Love," however, has been clinically proven to increase semen
production tenfold. Truth.
3The Avalanche
Since I Left You

Choose your favorite song: "Since I Left You" or "Frontier Psychiatrist"
4BT
Ima

BT is by far my favorite Techno artist. Doesn't matter what you consider
techno or electronic--Trance, House, Dubstep, whatever, he's my favorite.
5BT
ESCM

These first two of his are my latest gets. Good, good, good stuff. PLEASE
don't miss ESCM in lieu of 'Ima' or 'This Binary Universe', because this
deserves your attention just as much as those do.
6BT
Movement In Still Life

The album that turned me on to him. I had never before heard a song as
catchy as "Never Gonna Come Back Down."
7BT
This Binary Universe

Spacey.
8BT
These Hopeful Machines

Funny that the only song I've ever heard that matches the sheer catchiness
of "Never Gonna Come Back Down" is another BT song ("Suddenly").
9Celldweller
Celldweller

Industrial album, but with a much larger trance influence than most.
10Collide
Chasing The Ghost

Industrial album, but with a much larger trip-hop influence than most.
11Daft Punk
Discovery

Because ONE MORE TIME.
12Deadmau5
For Lack of a Better Name

Because IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII JUST WANT TO PLAY IT RIGHT.
13 DJ Shadow
Endtroducing....

I didn't know it until I'd found it, but this was the album I had been looking
for for years. That chill, jazzy instrumental hip-hop sound...I can't tell you
how long I'd looked for just that type of music to chill to. This was the also
the quickest 4.5 I'd ever given.
14Girl Talk
Feed The Animals

Party album.
15Flying Lotus
Cosmogramma

You know how the visualizer on iTunes gives a visual representation of
whatever sounds you're listening to? 'Cosmogramma' gives an auditory
representation of that visualization.
16Massive Attack
Mezzanine

Dark as fuck.
17Paul Oakenfold
Bunkka

I remember hearing "Ready, Steady Go" in the movie 'Collateral' and being
hooked. Then I remember driving into Las Vegas, NV at night while this
song was playing, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. Also, Ice Cube.
18Portishead
Dummy

Because if I didn't include "the big 3" of trip-hop on a list with any trip-hop
on it, I'd get skewered.
19The Prodigy
The Fat of the Land

This is the only album on the list that I don't actually own in full.
20Thievery Corporation
The Mirror Conspiracy

They had a song, "Lebanese Blonde," on the soundtrack for Garden State.
Took me a while to pick up the entire album, but this is really awesome
background music to anything. Perfect lounge album.
21Zero 7
Simple Things

Don't know if you've noticed, but I'm kind of fond of chill, lounge-y albums,
and this album is the epitome of that sound. Oooh man, I can't help but
get lost in those vocals and those intensely soothing melodies. Good
therapy.
