Northlane Vs Erra

So I feel that these two bands are pretty similar, and they get compared to each other a lot on here. Plus there's rrrbeen constant discussion/spirited conversation/argument in the Northlane and Erra threads over who's better. rrrSo this is just a little observation I've made between the two albums and Sputnik user's opinions of them.
1Erra
Impulse

So this album if very good and the best part is by-far the production. Superior production here in relation to Discoveries. Obviously the main
reason people don't like this is because of the cleans. Very very high-pitched. A bit of auto-tune. Slightly whiny and nasaly. So its to be
expected that some will not like them, for instance FearThyEvil and Devastator. However they do not bother me at all. I give this a 4.0. But
really a 3.75 if I could.
2Northlane
Hollow Existence

Now this here is a very interesting release. Showing Northlanes good muscianship enter-twined with their many dynamics and genre-blending
sounds. Shuyin likes this one much more than Discoveries, in which I think he's the only person on Sputnik who is like that. I really do enjoy
this EP and give it a strong 4.0. But for me it lives in the shadow of Discoveries.
3Erra
Andromeda

So I haven't heard this EP but I just wanted more room to write, as we all know, both Erra and Northlane are djenty-metalcore bands. Erra
opts for a bit more melodic nature with more leads and much more clean singing. Northlane is heavier IMO. And has more groove. Less
singing but much more emotional also. Both bands have competent screamers, but Adrian is far superior with insane range and as Erra's
screamer is good and sounds good and with decent power but only has one scream.
4Northlane
Discoveries

Another point of discussion is the album art of Discoveries vs Impulse haha. Many dislike Impulse's cover but I like the colors so its all good.
But I more
enjoy Discoveries cover. I like the prestine white and the 'discovery' the man is holding. Some still don't like this album at all. For example
FearThyEvil stated why he thought it wasn't a good album in a respectable manner and noted that for him it grew stale quickly and has
problems with drum prodcution and also that he wasn't getting any emotional connection with it. Then of course Gender decided to give his
thoughts(when
doesn't he?) and he simply said "amazing band!" So I suppose he likes it too. But for me, I just like this album and band more. Not sure
exactly why, but I do. Since I got both the albums on the same day a month ago I have listened to this 40-ish times. Impulse just 10. Its a
good album, just now replay value apparently. I give this a 4.75. But what are you're guys' thoughts between these two bands?
