| When I Was 16, The Word
I was 16 in 2004 well after the genre "Emo" had come to fruition. It was more around the time it was dying, but I remember it was the first real time I heard people using it to describe a style of music. Now don't argue with me about why I'm wrong or how that is not "Emo". I freaking know okay. This was usually the gateway album for a lot of kids I knew around that time. I remember hearing it driving home with my then brother-in-law and asking him what he would call this. He said "I would categorize this is a Emo". He went on to explain to me why and still do this day I think it's valid. This was really precedent for me to base what I thought Emo music was at the time. | |
