SCREAM! 04.09.12	When my gf of nearly 5 years left it was one of the hardest things to go through at first but i started focusing more on myself, hitting the gym, going to shows (which i rarely ever did while with her), trying to see my friends more, and within a little over a month i was pretty much back on my feet. I've doubled the amount of concerts i've been to and am generally a lot healthier because the habit of going to the gym stuck and i've been working out 3 times per week for about 3-4 months now. Feels good. Try to stay positive and keep your head up man, you can get through anything and in the end you'll realise it was all worth it

My ex and I didn't really go our separate ways for a long time, and looking back I can see that it just made everything far more painful and drawn out than it had to be. A few others have mentioned it but what really helped me was getting comfortable in my own skin, when the person you spend the majority of your time with leaves it's shocking at how alone you can initially feel. You've already found music that makes you cry, try and find some that gives you hope/acceptance or drive. Get into a new hobby or revisit an old one, hit the gym, read, dream... do things that make you remember/realize what you like about yourself and get comfortable in your own skin again. Was single for over a year once my ex left, gained back what little confidence I had and expanded upon it, also became more self reliant. Current gf and I are at 11 months so far, feels nice. I wish you the best of luck recovering sir!

So it's more a matter of what can I still be of what I used to be...plus, a lot of my social contact before m injury came from drinking which I'm not even remotely interested in anymore. Acanthus 09.05.12	Yeah I can understand/see where that'd be difficult, watching one of my friends get more involved in drinking regularly. It's beginning to change him, though he's over 30 so he knows what he's getting into. A easy way to socialize is online gaming, preferably on the PC. Teamwork based FPS's and the like really are a fun way to talk to people you don't know, and sometimes squads keep together even after the games done. Just saying you've got some options, but you already know that so you'll be fine in the end!
