Jethro42
04.08.12 | 2, 6 and 8 are all classics.
I still have to listen to 3 and 4
I'm interested in 5 and 7
1 is great but mr Anderson set the bar really high in naming it TAAB II. As a matter of fact, this is a quality album, the songwriting and performances are from a high level, but it has that famous album title's burden to carry on its shoulders. TAAB was already amply sufficient to itself. TAAB II would have done the trick better with another album title. |
Jethro42
04.08.12 | ...BUT, it remains an amazing Ian Anderson's solo work. |
Dimor
04.08.12 | Really great stuff on here! 4 and 2 are two of my all-time favorites. I have yet to check out the new Thick as a Brick though |
Jethro42
04.08.12 | I thought you were dead, fade |
Dimor
04.08.12 | Aww shit Ian Anderson man. I jammed some Secret language of Birds earlier today and its sooo good. |
JamieTwort
04.08.12 | @Jethro: I pretty much agree with everything you said about TAAB2. I still think it's a shame Martin Barre wasn't a part of it. I can see you digging all of the ones you haven't heard on here. |
JamieTwort
04.08.12 | Thanks Dimor, good to see someone else who likes 4, it's often overlooked around here. And yeah The Secret Language of Birds is awesome. |
JamieTwort
04.08.12 | Can't seem to fix the artwork for 8. That album is so good. |
AllGabrielsAreGlass
04.08.12 | List is Sweet. |
JamieTwort
04.08.12 | Thanks dude. |
Days of Future Passed
04.08.12 | Cool stuff man, glad to see some Moody Blues. Check out Days of Future Passed if you haven't |
JamieTwort
04.08.12 | The Moody Blues need more love on Sputnik. I've heard Days of Future Passed and it's great. |
Jethro42
04.08.12 | Out of The Moody blues, I only have the generous double compilation cd set This is The Moody Blues, days of Future passed and Long Distance Voyager as well. I'm still tempted in getting all of their earlier works since they all contain some gems.
I'm really glad you're liking 8 that much, JT. Rick Wakeman was already 'The Wizard' back in the day. |
jefflebowski
04.08.12 | 4 is great, Colosseum need more love around here |
JamieTwort
04.09.12 | @Jethro: You should definitely check out Every Good Boy Deserves Favour and especially On the Threshold of a Dream which is my personal favourite Moody Blues album. As for Strawbs, yeah that album is fantastic, Rick Wakeman's piano piece Temperament of Mind is incredible. |
JamieTwort
04.09.12 | Agreed, jefflebowski. |
TheNotrap
04.09.12 | Sweet.
Might check some of these. |
JamieTwort
04.09.12 | I can definitely see you digging 4, 6 and 7, Notrap. |

Jethro42
04.09.12 | I'd rec some IQ to the retard, but apparently his is too low. Music would be ridiculously too deep for him. |

Jethro42
04.09.12 | Oui tout à fait, omni ;) |
JamieTwort
04.09.12 | P/ indeed Jethro.
TAAB2 is certainly one of the best things Ian Anderson has done since Tull's Roots to Branches album. |
Jethro42
04.09.12 | Easily P/ |
omnipanzer
04.09.12 | ^ I'm already sold JT, I'll probably get it tonight. I'm getting "really good but not TaaB good" so
just get TaaB out of my head before listening. |
Jethro42
04.09.12 | Yeah but you're gonna detect some nod and wink toward TAAB on the run. Not enough to make a
significative difference though. My actual rating is a solid 4 and it will remain so. Enjoy and above
all, keep on P/ brother! |
omnipanzer
04.09.12 | lol p/ |
Jethro42

Jethro42
04.09.12 | ;)
Like we say in French; 'Il faut que jeunesse se passe.'' (Google translator says;youth must have happening)
oh well. |
Jethro42
04.09.12 | ''Youth must make its way'' sounds arguably more appropriate. |
