I'm An Incomparable Idiot When It Comes To Recording Music

So I know there are some users here who record their own music (I'm a fan of KILL's btw) and I was wondering if I could get some advice from some of you. I don't know what things I need or anything. Right now I have an acoustic-electric guitar, an electric guitar, an amplifier, and a computer. I just want simple recordings, to do in my office (which is a spare bedroom in my house). List is music that inspires and influences me. A heart thanks in advance.
