The good games are still expensive... If he can't afford a $100 Wii why would he want a system where all the good games are the same price as the used games of a brand new system?
You could find decent games for the PS2 at good prices all day long.
The handful of great games for the Gamecube still at $35 and up is not worth it. |

03.13.12 | N64 was pretty shitty actually, it could have been a lot better. designing more games to take advantage of the RAM pack and better controllers would have gone a long way to making it a better system. The N64 also lost them the FF series which pissed a lot of people off. Sega Saturn with a mod chip was way better and had way better games... as an older gent anyway. |

Saturns for some games because it had better 3D acceleration capabilities and the ram card which made Marvel vs Capcom instant load but the PS had better hardware for 2D. We would get modded controllers and games from Japan... good times. Dreamcast was fucking sweet and unfortunately fucking doomed. |

03.13.12 | I've owned & loved both consoles, however despite some of the great games the PS2 had it just didn't match up to the Gamecube in terms of a wide variety of fun games, simple controls & on some cases very superior graphics (not all the time I might add). Most of my years before the 360 were GC & Dreamcast based, so I may have slight bias towards the Cube but that's irrelevant at this point in my input of this discussion. |
