02.23.12 | I used to think the same about 4 actually, almost for all of their albums too. But it's something I kinda got used to, especially considering Abe is one of the best in the business. |

02.23.12 | musicianship and produciton are two different shoes, tho. |
sniper
02.23.12 | list maker is an idiot with bad taste in music and a shallow perception of what a good recording should sound like |
SpiritCrusher2
02.23.12 | I hate how the snare sounds in 3 |
Trebor.
02.23.12 | 1 is supposed to sound like that
I fucking love the overblown electric guitar sound
|
jefflebowski
02.23.12 | production and mastering are two different things though.
however, 3's production is fucking irritating and Dave Fridmann is a rubbish producer. Also, most of the deftones albums are overcompressed to the max |
sniper
02.23.12 | the production on public strain is some of the best i've ever heard. |
jefflebowski
02.23.12 | yeah the production really fits the sound |
Trebor.
02.23.12 | Bad production to me is super overproduced shit
Like the last two U2 albums ughhh |
sniper
02.23.12 | yeah. you should just learn to appreciate the music despite the production if music is legitimately produced poorly. but that isn't even the case with public strain. music like that plays off the haziness of the production, you aren't supposed to be able to hear everything that's going on. |
SpiritCrusher2
02.23.12 | lol U2
but yeah, overproducing sucks |
Iamthe Nightstars
02.23.12 | The vocals are mixed too loud in 2. |
Tyler.
02.23.12 | someone said it but the snare in 3 really bothers me at some points. but that's only a small thing |
SpiritCrusher2
02.23.12 | hmm I'm listening to 3 again, and it seems that snare sounds annoying only on some tracks? lol |
slashface000
02.24.12 | You spelled production wrong heh |
Benjomatico
02.24.12 | I appreciate music on many different levels, production is just ONE aspect. Read the description, it tells you that I really enjoy all of those albums. It's just that the production doesn't add anything to the music, IMO. Some of the best recorded albums for my taste are what you consider "lo-fi". Listen to "Odessey and Oracle" or "Roman Candle", brilliant! And with the risk of sounding snobbish, I just don't get the "legitimately produced poorly" thing. I am pretty sure I am far away of having a "shallow" taste, my friend |
Benjomatico
02.24.12 | Ty, fixed it |
ncguitar
02.24.12 | Overproduction is way worse than raw music. |
Benjomatico
02.24.12 | I couldn't care less about "overproduced" music, I don't listen to that kind of stuff. |
sniper
02.24.12 | listen to some raw black metal for legitimately poor production. i was really just mad that 5 is on here because the album rules and has really good production. |
ncguitar
02.24.12 | 8-10 suck so hard |
iambandersnatch
02.24.12 | listen to some raw black metal for legitimately poor production. [2] |
Benjomatico
02.24.12 | I could see that, sorry if I offended you. 5 has a very interesting touch to it and I can definitley see people digging the production, it's not like something is done sloppy or badly on here. But I just dont get some of those aspects, like the vocals being all muddy in the background, loaded with reverb. Maybe I will in time when I listen to it more often, i really like the music on it . I tried "bergtatt" for raw blackmetal but I'm not getting anything of it. |
NeutralThunder12
02.24.12 | every album on here has brilliant production |
sniper
02.24.12 | yeah public strain might be my favorite album. give it some time, and listen loud enough that you almost melt at the end of eyesore and if you still don't like i guess it just isn't for you. |
VlacDrac
02.24.12 | Well, if you want to listen an incredibly annoing snare, listen to St. Anger
Plus Death Magnetic sound is so fucking compressed. |
sniper
02.24.12 | yeah wtf is that snare sound in st. anger? i think the head broke and they were just like "here hit this trash can lid instead that sounds just as good" |
FearThyEvil
02.24.12 | Production on these rule are you deaf? I agree to an extent with 2's vocal production though. |
