Ignimbrite 02.14.12	I think F35s are just as badass as the next guy does, but I do not understand how we spend hundreds of billions of dollars on futuristic fighter jets while refusing to allocate more than half of a percent of our national budget to shit like SCIENCE and DISCOVERY and TELESCOPES and MARS and fucking ALIENS. Seriously, fuck politicians.

Im pretty sure the military has it saved for themselves especially after we got the blue-prints for haunebu II after we captured all the Nazi scientist. Im sure someone figured out how to make it fly, we just don't know about it.

taylormemer 02.14.12	Some truth in this point. The single most used form of propulsion is some form of chemical, solid or liquid, which as a concept hasn't changed. Sure you have your ion and Hall effect thrusters but there's so far nothing that has supplanted chemical propulsion to get you into space. From there it's easy pickings as to what you do, but again you end up at chemical propulsion if you want to do the hard yards in a short space of time. The only thing that you can't expect from it is endurance.
