| Dream Theater Live Setlist: 8/22/07
Yesterday I was at my first concert of a band i really love, Dream Theater. This is simply the songs they played in order. "Surrounded" was extended quite a bit, due to some insane dual soloing between Petrucci and Rudess, as well as a short bridge before the end. The encore was a medley of five of their closing songs, listed in order as well. | | 1 | Dream Theater Constant Motion | | 2 | Panic Attack | | 3 | Blind Faith | | 4 | Surrounded | | 5 | The Dark Eternal Night | | 6 | Endless Sacrifice | | 7 | I Walk Beside You | | 8 | Take the Time | | 9 | In the Presence of Enemies (1 and 2) | | 10 | Encore-closing medley-Trial of Tears/Finally Free/Learning to Live/In the Name of God/Octavarium | |

08.23.07 | Though i was upset of the lack of "Metropolis," I thought it was a pretty strong setlist. I really couldnt pick a favorite, but "Endless Sacrifice" was performed beautifully, "Take the Time" was probably the most fun piece, and "In the PResense of Enemies" of course was fantastic, as well as the encore. "Surrounded had some electrifying dual soloing, in which Rudess stopped playing his normal keyboard, and brought out this black guitar keyboard, and the two jsut shredded at the front of the stage. (I forgot, but there was a name for that device)
Oh, and it really began with a short intro, that mimicked that weird thing that begins those pixar films, only with the majesty logo instead of IGN, then that other traditional opener thing, which i can't remember the name, and that went straight into "Constant Motion."

08.23.07 | Cool, it was a great show. Into Eternity and Redemption opened, they both performed pretty well (Convinced me to check out some of their albums) but DT just blew them away, The stage was pretty cool, there was a stoplight at the top of the stage, and when DT were about to start, it changed to red, then yellow, then green, then the curtain dropped and the intro started.
And they weren't all that statuesque either, Petrucci moved around a bit, and during alot of the more complex solos he would come up to the front of the stage. Myung didn't moce quite as much, but he actually headbanged a little, like on the intro to "Panic Attack."
Oh, and i forgot to say i had killer seats, I was in row "H" in the front and center section, about 7-10 yards from the stage =D | Yazz_Flute
08.23.07 | If you don't find it in my last post, i was in row "H" of the front and center section. | The Door Mouse
08.23.07 | Nice^^^
I was directly in front of the stage but all the way in the last seat :/ It was a small Theater though but it was cool.
I hated IE but Redemption was actually pretty good. | ZapatoDiablo
08.23.07 | This tour totally crept up on me somehow and I forgot to get tickets. I would have loved to see Take the Time and Blind Faith. |
