Favorite Alternative Rock Albums

I'm a big Alt Rock guy, and these are my favorite Alternative Rock albums right here.
1Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream

How many summaries of Siamese Dream will I right? A lot, because its just that good. The heavily layered guitars, soothing vocals, jazz fusion drum rhythms, and catchy chorus make this one of the best albums...ever.
2Smashing Pumpkins
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Smashing Pumpkins are the best alt-rock act, and they always will be. This album and Siamese Dream are incredible. This album gets kind of lengthy in points, and at times drags, but still is incredible, and different than anything the Pumpkins ever did (outside of Zeitgeist).
3Radiohead
OK Computer

This was Radiohead's last album that could be classified as alternative rock, and is one of their best albums. The album's unique infusion of hard-edged anthems, and strange Radiohead classics makes OK Computer a worthy listen.
4The Smiths
The Queen is Dead

Arguably the greatest album of Alternative Rock until the 90s, the album's mix of strange guitar work courtesy of Marr and Morrissey's unique, whiny vocals makes this album a must-have.
5 R.E.M.
Life's Rich Pageant

R.E.M. was godly to me for many years, as Stipe's vocal delivery allured me along with their signature guitar work. This is the best R.E.M. album, hands down, and the best pre-Document album.
6U2
Pop

I absolutely love this album. It may have been a commercial failure, but the album's weird, disco style with its Achtung Baby-like electronics. My favorite U2 album, easily.
7Minus the Bear
Menos el Oso

Before Planet of Ice, Minus the Bear was a whacked-out, partyboy-led band with random titles and odd sounds. Their unique, laid-back, yet cold sounds makes Minus the Bear a great alternative rock group.
8Smashing Pumpkins
MACHINA: The Machines of God

MACHINA is one of my favorite Pumpkins albums ever, and for good reason. The album was challenging, hard, and tough to get into a lot like Nine Inch Nails' The Fragile. The unique, fuzzy soundscapes worked well with Billy Corgan's strange voice.
9 The Killers
Sam's Town

Sam's Town may be one of the most epic, perfectly flowing albums of our time. The album itself doesn't feature that many good listens, but the album works together perfectly, and is much more mature than Hot Fuss.
10Snow Patrol
Final Straw

Snow Patrol's best album happened to be their breakthrough album. Songs like Spitting Games, Chocolate, and Run give their traditional pop/alt-rock music something other Alternative Rock bands don't have.
