08.17.07 | Power Metal: Kamelot |
Yazz_Flute
08.17.07 | Some pretty good screamo is "Haste the Day," I don't paticularly like the genre but they're decent.
There are a lot of great power metal bands, and the best is probably "Blind Guardian." Definately check them out, they're amazing. "Iced Earth" is a great choice as well, though the only album from them i really love is "Burnt Offerings," which is much darker and more evil soundning than their other releases i've heard.
For neoclassical...well, SymX has some...Children of Bodom has some neoclassical in their older works, notably "Hatebreeder." And an amazing black/melodeath/neoclassical band is "Wintersun" as well. They only have one album, but it's in my top 5 albums of all time, and their next is coming out sometime next year. |

08.17.07 | I reccomend the hell outta this guy; Nick Drake. He's a really good folk artist. Pick up Pink Moon, you'll most definitely enjoy it.
Psyc. Rock; Cream- Disraelie Gears, 13th Floor Elevators- Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators and Jimi Hendrix.
With Jimi get Electric Ladyland if you like long solos and really spacey songs (I'll warn you, it can get really boring). Are You Experienced isn't as spacey and the solos aren't as lengthy. Axis is by far his best and the easiest to get into. Jimi excercises more control on it.
Oh and Doolittle by the Pixies if you haven't heard it. |
The Door Mouse
08.17.07 | 2: Talking Heads
6: Explosions in the Sky
7: Surrealistic Pillow
8: All that I have is At The Drive-In but it is really good. |

08.17.07 | for classical you could get into some Chopin piano music... his fourth ballade or second nocturne to see if you like it. also you could get into some Tchaikovsky, his 4th, 5th or 6th symphony. It's all very beautiful music from the romanic era. |
robin2220
08.17.07 | I'll look into that. I love piano. |
antihippy
08.17.07 | for emo/screamo, listen to circle takes the square, off minor, love.... like lectrocution, ampere, city of caterpillar, daitro, american football, envy, Pg 99, potrait, you and i and raein.

9. Thrice, Refused, At The Drive-In

The Jungler
08.17.07 | 1. people have been saying some good ones. I'll just toss Cap'n Jazz out there because they are really awesome, though they hardly fit the genre title.
2. Talking Heads, Joy Division, Mission of Burma. They're all awesome
6. Slint, Talk Talk (Laughing Stock, I guess). Not what you'd expect, but it was before the genre was so limiting. Both amazing.
7. Animal Collective. Not from the psychedelic era necessarily, but Feels is better than anything any of those dinosaurs can come up with.
9. Fugazi, maybe Drive Like Jehu |
FR33L0RD
