5 Most Anticipated Rap In 2012

best believe it nigga
1 EL-P
Cancer For Cure

Drones Over BKYLN was a great song that melded EL-P's "post-apocalyptic, philip k. dick-quoting sci-fi rap" with a structured, melodic beat and I expect the rest of the album to do the same
2 Asher Roth
Is This Too Orange?

After his Asleep in the Bread Aisle disaster he's been on a string of redemptive guest verses and hes dropped the frat rap act (for the most part) and has gone to a combination of party rap, socially conscious lyrics, and lyricism for lyricisms sake. here's an example of his redemption off of his most recent mixtape http://www.djbooth.net/index/tracks/radio/asher-roth-choices/
3 Heems
Nehru Jackets

On new years day The Das Racist rapper drops a solo mixtape which is sure to be full of witty pop culture analysis and self awareness. One track has been released and its pretty dope. Hopefully we get more of the self aware, liberal arts student bollywood rap from this tape that DR usually drop.
4 50 Cent
Black Magic

The original concept for this was a euro-dance rap record but that was quickly scrapped when 50 realized he could still spit hard. No one but the bloggerati (and me) noticed his great output in 2011 where he gave up trying to make new sounding rap and went back to post-2003 Get Rich or Die Tryin era gangster rap. Almost every song he's put out this year has been in that style and it's been great
5 Big K.R.I.T.
Live From the Underground

This is supposed to drop in January as his first proper debut album and if his recent output says anything, this will be another solid showcasing of intelligent trunk music and sweet country rap. Let's hope it is good
