Kim Jong Il Is Dead: What's Next?

So the "great" Korean leader of 17 years is dead of unspecified cases, and his son Kim Jong Un is set to take over his place. What does this mean for South Korean-International militant affairs? The former leader has spent years and years investing in and stockpiling nuclear weapons en masse, at the extreme expense of the country's economy and social well being, and has been the source of nervousness for world leaders concerned for the impending threat of nuclear war. Notably low-profile, there isn't much to assess about the personality or political direction of the leader's successor, so this could mean great things for the nation in a military, economic and social sense. If he proves to be a power-hungry psychopath hell-bent on nuclear domination, we could be entering the highest level of international arms-related tension since the Cuban missile crisis.
