| Need Your Help
I have finally signed up for an account after reading reviews on
this sight for the past year or so.
I would appreciate some advice on what bands I should look
further into. These are some bands I am into in the moment
(generally in chronilogical order of when I got into them).
Thanks | | 1 | Tool
The band that brought me from the dark depths of new metal (linkin park, limp bizkit etc) and
introduced me into a whole world of other music with a bit more substance. If there is something
similiar to Tool that you would like to recomend I would give it a listen so please do. | | 2 | Radiohead
I have been into Radiohead for almost two years and I can not lose interest in them because of the
interesting changes they make from album to album. Please recomend something similiar if you can | | 3 | Placebo
I will probably get a degree of bashing for praising this band but there is something about placebo that I
do like. I like their older albums more though. | | 4 | The Cure
This is a band that I want to get into more so please recomend some albums. I have disintegration and I
love it, unfortunately thats all I have by them. | | 5 | Jeff Buckley
Grace has to be one of my favourite albums of all time. Are the live albums and such worth getting? | | 6 | Joy Division
My friend introduced them to me and I can't stop listening. Please recomend anything similar : ) | | 7 | The National
I have Boxer and I realy like it. I've heard that Alligator is worth buying too... what do you lot think? | | 8 | Sonic Youth
After reading a lot of good reviews on this site I bought Daydream Nation and I love it. What cds should I
get next? | | 9 | Converge
This might suprise you considering it's quite different from the other bands that I've listed. My friend is
realy into hardcore and when he showed me converge I fell in love. I dont yet own any of their albums
but I plan on buying one soon. Which one should I start with? | | 10 | Neutral Milk Hotel
I bought both of their latest albums after hearing 3 songs. I am basically obsessed with them even
though I only found out about them about two weeks ago. I realy like the lo-fi songs like holland 1945.
I also like the folk feel as well. Please recomend anything like Neutral Milk Hotel. | |

07.27.07 | Tool is a very good band. Converge is good, but it takes a while to get into them. 2 & 8 are OK but I haven't looked to far into them myself. | Monticello

07.27.07 | Tool is way to overrated according to some of this site's highest ranking reviewers. but they are worth checking out for sure.

07.28.07 | welcome to the site, by the way! | spoon_of_grimbo
07.28.07 | as i've been listening to them loads this week, i'd have to recommend "a fragile hope" by devil sold his soul, and "sea of the dying dhow" by *shels. the fact that your list contains brutal metal(core), atmospheric stuff, and experimental(ish) bands, i think you'd really enjoy those two.
and welcome to sputnik btw, always nice to see new members start with a promising list, rather than reeling off a list of buzz bands they worship before buggering off (as many have). | Fort23
