My Dad's Cd Book
Since someone else did Father's CD Collection; I thought it would be good to do my dad's CD book. He's about 48, and enjoys a lot of rock. He's open-minded, loves 70s, 80s, 90s, and not much of the 2000s. |
| 1 | | Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream
He insists this is the best rock album ever. He's the person who got me into the Smashing Pumpkins; this is his favorite album ever. Doesn't really dig the rest of their stuff, but absolutely loves this album. |
| 2 | | Nirvana In Utero
He didn't like Nevermind that much, but likes the dark 'vibe' of In Utero and the way it flows. The album really is very good though. |
| 3 | | Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Greatest Hits
We used to get in arguments all the time because I hate Tom Petty. His music is so elementary and his voice is so bad. |
| 4 | | Pearl Jam Vitalogy
He loved how much it was so different than Ten...so much more upbeat, rock, and 'raw'. He liked Eddie Vedder's voice a lot in this album as well. |
| 5 | | Eagles The Very Best Of...
Hotel California may be his favorite song of all time...and it is a good song. So is Desperado. But I don't like Eagles that much, so I'll pass. |
| 6 | | Pearl Jam Vs.
One of the best Pearl Jam album is just so good...Elderly Woman Behind the Counter is amazing. |
| 7 | | Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon
Loves how this album flows so well...he has a Master Recording on vinyl...plays it really loud and falls asleep or...unconscious? |
| 8 | | Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin IV
Never a big Led Zeppelin fan but absolutely loved this album. |
| 9 | | The Doors Morrison Hotel
Been through four copies; at least that's what he told me. His favorite album as a teenager. |
| 10 | | Metallica St. Anger
Don't know what the love affair with St. Anger is. This album sucks. |
| 11 | | Nirvana MTV Unplugged in New York
The best Unplugged album hands down. |
| 12 | | Stone Temple Pilots Core
Crackerman is my Dad's favorite STP song. |
| 13 | | Soundgarden Down on the Upside
Likes Down on the Upside just a little bit more than Superunknown because he loves Pretty Noose. |
| 14 | | Pink Floyd Animals
The way this album flows is astonishing to him. |
| 15 | | Rush 2112
The epic 2112 may be corny but the drumming is unbelievable and Geddy Lee's vocals are astonishingly awesome. |
| 16 | | Nirvana Bleach
He loved how raw this album was. |
| 17 | | Pearl Jam Yield
He bought the album for Given to Fly and didn't really dig the rest that much but says its still solid. |
| 18 | | Nine Inch Nails Pretty Hate Machine
Head Like a Hole was an amazing song when it came out. He said it was so much harder and different than anything else at the time. |
| 19 | | Pink Floyd The Wall
Won't tell me why he enjoyed this album so much...(you know why...) |
| 20 | | Alice in Chains Unplugged
Very good unplugged album even though Layne Staley screwed up so many songs. |
