Jash Hits 2000

finally hit 2000 comments even though i've been on here forever, i'm going to try and start reviewing more often so i'll be around more often, letting Aids know how bad all of his lists are. here's my 5's
1A Winged Victory For The Sullen
A Winged Victory For The Sullen

Some albums have a certain mood or tone to them, this album is one of the few
that dont. Instead it becomes the perfect soundtrack to the mood you are
already in.
2Boards Of Canada

It took this album two weeks to become my second favorite album of all time
and assured the Boards of Canada will be one of my favorite bands of all time.
Music is Math and Dandelions are two of the best songs ever, just sayin
3Boards Of Canada
Music Has The Right To Children

Music Has The Right To Children was the first electronica record i ever heard. I
didnt know what to expect but i was instantly drawn in by the layered
atmospheres and woozy drum loops. Every song is perfect, a piece to the big
picture this album creates. The use of sampling on this record are some of the
most creative ive ever heard, just adding to the plethora of amazing textures
that are created. A true masterpiece of electronic music, Music Has The Right To
Children will always be one of my favorite albums
4Bon Iver
For Emma, Forever Ago

The definitive break-up album, For Emma, Forever Ago is probly the saddest
album ever recorded. Justin Vernon puts all of his sadness, anger, and love into
the songs on this album. Ever lyric striking an emotional chord for me, this
album has helped me through some really bad times. Vernon is one of the most
amazing vocalists and his harmonies are beautiful and flawless.
5Brand New
The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me

I don't really know how to describe this album other than raw emotion. Jesse
Lacey writes some of the most spine tingling, emotional lyrics I've ever heard.
So there's that, and as if the lyrics weren't enough the music is complex when
it needs to be, simple at the perfect times, and chaotic enough to carry the
emotion behind the lyrics.
But life is a test and I get bad marks
Now some saint got the job of writing down my sins
The storm is coming
Yeah the storm is coming
6Brian Eno
Ambient 1: Music For Airports

Sleep 101
7Buddy Guy
Stone Crazy!

The best blues album I have ever heard. Buddy Guy's guitar playing just oozes
emotion, every note exactly what it should be. From blistering lines and riffs to
the perfect held bend that just screams through the amp, it's all their.

The crowning achievement for an artist who has created one of the most
unique sounds in dubstep, Untrue is a journey through the darkest alleys of
London that will leave you in awe for its entirety.
9City Of Caterpillar
City Of Caterpillar

The perfect mix of fast hardcore riffs with epic post-rock build up's, City Of
Caterpillar are fucking insane. A highlight in the history book of emo, this album
is a masterpiece of emotional music.

By far the best Coldplay record, their simple sound on Parachutes will always
sound better to me than all their new "Brian Eno huge" sounds
Jane Doe

(hits play for the first time) RAAA RAAA RAAA RAAA RAAA (holy fucking shit this
is awesome!!!!!!)
12 Explosions In The Sky
Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

Godspeed are dark and epic. Sigur Ros are cold and beautiful. Explosions In The
Sky, more particularly Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place, are the sound of hope
13Film School

The perfect album to get high and walk around in the rain to
The Mesektet

36 tracks of pure hip-hop brilliance
15Flying Lotus
Los Angeles

I swear to god when J Dilla died his soul, or atleast part of it, found its way into
Fly Lo
*The wooziest of beats

25Kanye West
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

its official: this album is actually better than Mali-booyah
26La Dispute
Somewhere At The Bottom Of The River...

This album is just flat out fucking amazing. so much emotion is channeled into
the music these guys make. some of my favorite lyrics of all time are on this
record, its as if youre feeling and going through exactly what he's talking about.
the guitars are genius, and the way they play off of eachothers riffs is just
amazing. up there with For Emma, Forever Ago as a definitive break-up album
27La Dispute

La Dispute fucking rule. Period.
28Laura Stevenson and the Cans
Sit Resist

"With Sit Resist, Laura Stevenson and her cans have connected with me on a
deeply personal level." i think we can all agree on that Aids

M83 take the feelings of crazy highschool relationships and angst and mix it
with a lil bit of the 80's to create the soundtrack for the weekends of your
misspent youth

The artist formerly known as MF DOOM and Madlib collaborate for one of hip-
hops finest offering.
Hey you, dont touch the mic like there's Aids on it
31Massive Attack

Mezz Life
32Modest Mouse
The Moon & Antarctica

One of the first albums i ever really obsessed over, it became the soundtrack to
my first experiences with weed and will always remind me of my summer after
grade 9, getting high and doing stupid shit all the time and listening to this
Hymn To The Immortal Wind

This is the perfect snow album. Reading the poem while listening to the album
makes it so much better, and them playing this live is just a whole other lever
of amazing
34My Bloody Valentine

On Loveless, My Bloody Valentine turn noise into beauty. You can get lost in the
walls of distorted guitars or become hypnotized by Bilinda Butcher and Kevin
Shields dreamy vocals. Loveless one of the the most otherworldly and beautiful
albums ever
35Neutral Milk Hotel
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea

didnt like it at first blah blah blah, one day it clicked and now i love it blah blah
blah, cool story bro
Split The Atom

Split The Atom is the craziest party of your life, but in music form
37 Orchid
Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow

The first taste of screamo music i ever had, my friend lent me this album and it
was all i listened to for weeks. It was so different from anything i'd heard at the
time and i was amazed by the raw emotions the songs showed. I would latter
go on to find many more amazing albums in the emo/screamo genre but this
will always be one of my favorites because we all remember our first time
I Do Perceive

Mike is one sad guy who can play guitar better than all of us will ever be able to
39Pg. 99
Document #8

"Punk rock should mean freedom. Liking and accepting anything that you like.
Playing whatever you want, as sloppy as you want. As long as it?s good and it
has passion."

My photography teacher came into class one day and brought this cd. Before
playing it he told me it was the album that got him through art school, then he
pressed play and became the coolest teacher i ever had
OK Computer

Kid A

Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt II

This is the album that got me into rap.
Best Wu-Tang member solo album
A Retrospective

Another band who died wayyyyyyyy before they should have, Saetia's "A
Retrospective" is a definitive piece of screamo history

when i first read this was the decades answer to Untrue i was all "fuck
nawwwwww braaaaahhhhhh are you fo seriouzzzzzzzzz noooo waaaayyyyyyyy",
but now im all "you can say i told you so Dev... again.........."
46Set Fire To Flames
Sings Reign Rebuilder

F#A# Infinity was the soundtrack to the apocalypse and this is the soundtrack
to what life was like after
47Sigur Ros
Heima (DVD)

This film made me become obsessed with everything Iceland, and and the
bands pretty good too
48Sigur Ros
( )

Cold and beautiful
49 Sigur Ros
Agaetis Byrjun

This is the album that made me fall in love with Sigur Ros, and spend hours
trying to get Jonsi's bow technique perfected

Second only to Loveless, Souvlaki is a definitive shoegaze album that is perfect
front to back.
51Sufjan Stevens
The Age Of Adz

But all I want is the perfect love, though I know it's small, I want love for us all
52The Mars Volta
De-Loused In The Comatorium
