I don't know anything about him supporting tax hikes for anybody; prayer in schools he simply believes not to be a federal issue as far as I know. I don't know if he's homophobic, but probably no worse than the other republicans or Obama - especially since he supports removing marriage from the sphere of governmental control altogether - certainly a more progressive position than any other (I believe there's a subset of radical feminists who support this idea).
Rand Paul I think is relatively reasonable (for a politician), he shares most of the abovementioned viewpoints, which makes him more left-wing on some of the most important issues than Obama. Also, agree with Paul or not, to claim he's not bright is just silly. He knows innumerable episodes from US foreign policy most people have never heard of; he actually has economic training (in a school oof thought which is incorrect on some important things, but it still counts for something!); he saw both 9/11 and the 2008 crisis coming in some form - plus he's a doctor by trade. Doesn't sound like a stupid person to me. |

Have a look at the effects of government on the entertainment industry, it's interesting - if not just because you will finally realise that different types of government change so much more than what you learn at school/ from the media.
spoiler: capitalism holds music back and prevents it from progressing. It's why music is a reaction of the past (often) instead of a progressive medium, extrapolated into general effect of conformity.
Also, for some of you I think it's worth thinking about WHY you support what you do. The US, for instance, is incredible anti-socialist, really through an inability to move on past McCarthy-ism (capitalism churning up old ideas and all) than any factual basis.

I don't see the correlation MO. It depends on what type of regulations you mean. There are always ways to diversify your holdings. Regulations keeping companies from making themselves financially unstable are good in the long term... mostly. It really depends on what your talking about but in any system you need to leave some kind of "case by case" system in place so blanket regulations don't restrict where they should not. Again... this could be discussed for weeks. |
