Megadeth/MegaDave/The Dave Mustaine Experience Ranked
Unoriginal ..... Who gives a shit ?? |
| 1 | | Megadeth Rust in Peace
One of the best thrash albums of all time. In my top 5 favourite albums ever. Basically, you need to hear this
album ..... My favourites include 'Holy Wars... The Punishment Due', 'Hangar 18'. 'Tornado of Souls', 'Take No
Prisoners' and 'Rust in Peace... Polaris' the whole album is awesome however. Rust in Peace > Master of
Puppets (narrowly) |
| 2 | | Megadeth Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
Dave sounds convincingly pissed off on this something most 'extreme' bands don't accomplish. Not as good
as RiP but still a very good thrash album. 'Wake Up Dead', 'Good Mourning/Black Friday' and 'Peace Sells' are
some of the best tracks here. |
| 3 | | Megadeth Countdown to Extinction
Megadeth sold out ? No. They changed their style slightly to gain new fans ? Yes. As a result this became
Megadeth's most successful album, mainly for 'Symphony of Destruction' however this album contains way
more than just that, including 'Skin O' My Teeth' and 'Sweating Bullets' |
| 4 | | Megadeth Youthanasia
May get some hate for putting this above Endgame and the debut..... Fuck you guys I like this album. More
commercial than ever before but still very good. Also annoyingly catchy at times. My favourite Megadeth song
has to be 'A Tout Le Monde', also highly recommended 'The Killing Road' and 'Addicted to Chaos'. |
| 5 | | Megadeth Endgame
Return to form. Contains the thrashiest material since RiP and yet it still has some commercial aspects that
made Youthanasia and CtE so successful. 'This Day We Fight!' and 'Headcrusher' are some of the best here
however I like '44 Minutes' too, despite the cheesy lyrics. |
| 6 | | Megadeth So Far, So Good... So What!
The drugs started to take effect here. Some great, some WTF ?? best moments include 'In My Darkest Hour'
and 'Set the World Afire'. |
| 7 | | Megadeth Cryptic Writings
Even more commercial then Youthanasia and just a little too far in my opinion. Still has some good stuff
though. 'Trust' is I believe the most successful Megadeth song of all time. |
| 8 | | Megadeth Killing is my Business...
A good debut however not an amazing one. The vocals and production suck, sorry Dave. However still a good
thrash album. 'Mechanix' and the title track are pretty awesome. |
| 9 | | Megadeth United Abominations
A great improvement on The System Has Failed. More thrashy and sets up the true 'comeback' in Endgame.
'Washington is Next' is one of the best Megadeth songs, along with the 'A Tout Le Monde' cover and the title
track. |
| 10 | | Megadeth TH1RT3EN
I haven't heard this as much as the other albums, for obvious reasons. It sounds like the kind of record that
will grow on me but for now it just feels like Dave going through the motions. It sounds like he feels he has
nothing to prove whereas on Endgame he sounded reborn in a way, not bad but not amazing either. |
| 11 | | Megadeth The System Has Failed
Effectively a Mustaine solo album (more so than any other Megadeth album) not as well known as most other
Megadeth albums and not as good, yet not awful or bad by any means either. 'Blackmail the Universe' is a
great song. |
| 12 | | Megadeth The World Needs a Hero
A decent album coming after Risk which was deemed a failure. Not amazing, more average than anything
else. A decent follow-up in 'Return to Hangar' more thrashy material is found here after Dave realised they
had gone too far commercially with Risk. |
| 13 | | Megadeth Risk
Their most commercial record to date and their worst. Believe it or not you can blame Lars Ulrich for this. He
said that Megadeth were too afraid to change their sound so in response Dave produced this. FUCK YOU LARS |
