|Overlooked Albums Of The 70's Pt. 1
Overlooked both on Sputnik (these all have below 10 ratings) and in general.
Brilliant progressive hard rock album, sounds like a cross between Jethro Tull and Uriah Heep.
On the Boards
Taste were Rory Gallagher's band before he embarked on his succesful solo career. On the Boards is an excellent blues rock album that shows Gallagher's incredible guitar playing as well as his songwriting talents.
Best described as a mix of early Sabbath and Grand Funk Railroad, this album is quite a departure from the proggy psychedelic sound of thier debut but is every bit as good.
|Ten Years After
It may not be as consistent as thier previous album, Cricklewood Green (arguably thier best album) but Watt contains some of the bands best songs including I'm Coming On and Think About the Times.
Released under the name The Gary Moore Band, Grinding Stone is Moore's first and only attempt at creating a progressive rock album. The blues elements of his earlier work with Skid Row (IRE) are still present but the 17 minute track Spirit shows his more experimental side.
