The Best Of The 80s
The best of the 80s rock & Metal.
1
Nine Inch Nails
Pretty Hate Machine
Hands down; it brought industrial into the mainstream and made overused keyboards a little less geeky.
2
U2
The Joshua Tree
Wonderful album. U2's best by far, its slow yet hard. Great album.
3
The Smiths
The Queen Is Dead
The queen may be dead but the Smiths aren't as The Queen Is Dead was a ridiculously awesome album.
4
The Cure
Disintegration
Slowly fading away from the keyboards helped The Cure become so, so good.
5
Nirvana
Bleach
The beginning of a grunge dynasty and rock music as we know it began in 1989.
6
Rush
Moving Pictures
Wild, awesome album with possibly the best instrumental ever, YYZ.
7
The Misfits
Earth A.D. / Die Die My Darling
The best Misfits album hands down.
8
Talking Heads
Remain In Light
Even though I hated the lead singer, there was something about the Talking Heads that kept me interested.
9
Janes Addiction
Nothing's Shocking
Outside of the strange album cover, Jane's Addiction's best album is a great, and very different album that really put them on the map.
10
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Mothers Milk
While not as good as Blood Sugar Sex Majik, this album set them apart with classics like Higher Ground and Taste the Pain.

Good list. Very good list. I don't like some of the albums, but I cannot deny how influential all of them were.

yyz is great but not the best

My problem with Moving Pictures is how I find it goes down dramtically after the first few songs. As soon as Limelight kicks in.
Queen Is Dead is really good.
Bleach is pretty good.
