Fairly Cool Album Openers

Some random songs that I thought opened albums well.
1Rage
Ghosts

Beginning of the End - Just sets the pace for the album very well and has some good atmospheric elements. Sounds epic without sounding too stupid.
2Nocturnus
The Key

Lake Of Fire - Nice and atmospheric track that sounds very futuristic, totally suiting the album.
3Judas Priest
Painkiller

Painkiller - Easy choice. All round fun musicianship. Solos are cool too.
4Slayer
Seasons In The Abyss

War Ensemble - Dark and moody thrasher. Some great variation of pace throughout.
5Jag Panzer
Casting The Stones

Feast Or Famine - Sounds like Nevermore but with more keyboard. The riffs are pretty cool, and The Tyrant still sounds great as ever.
6Annihilator
Never, Neverland

The Fun Palace - All round awesome. Riffs are killer and the solo rips. Bass is nice too.
7Morbid Angel
Altars Of Madness

Immortal Rites - Dat riff. And everything else. Plus that bit with the keyboard.
(BTW, unless you hadn't already guessed, this list isn't in any real order)
8Malevolent Creation
Retribution

Eve Of The Apocalypse - Riffs are really awesome here and starts the pace of the album very well and gives a good flavor of whats to come later on.
9Overkill
The Years Of Decay

Time To Kill - A slow pace thrasher but sounds pretty malevolent. Riffs are pretty good and Bobby is as good as ever.
10Destruction
Release From Agony

Release From Agony - Evil sounding. Drums use tonnes of nice fills and the solo is cool. Schmier sounds as strangely evil as ever.
