08.25.11 | I don't think there is any new genres of music. And if there are, we probably don't need them. It's gotten to the point where people are just adding "post" or "core" to pretty much anything to create useless subgenres inside of subgenres. |

North0House2
08.25.11 | I'll have you know, being gay was illegal in medieval villages.
So, village people did not perform Gaycore. |
Mewcopa0
08.25.11 | pffft. didn't say medieval. a village is a clustered hamlet. village near ma house. |

08.25.11 | Electronic music as like, an actual genre of music played in clubs and stuff, has been around since the 70s, but people have been experimenting with electronic sounds in general since like, the early 1900s. |

The Theremin was rolled out in 1919... So yeah, you're right, electronic stuff has been around for ages. |

08.25.11 | It's just a term |
YetAnotherBrick
08.25.11 | So would you consider "metal" just a term too, considering metal has loads of different sub-genres branching off of it, just like electronic? |
Deviant.
08.25.11 | It kind of is and kind of isn't. It's different in regards to electronic music because that only got its name because of what it's composed of |
YetAnotherBrick
08.25.11 | Yeah, good point. I see what you mean. |

08.25.11 | witchhouse or chillwave
but anything that new is subject to debate in terms of legitimacy.
i get why some people get annoyed with heaps of different genres and sub-genres and mutations and cross-pollinations, seemingly coming out of nowhere, and maybe for no real reason, but i dont see how diversity can be a problem. |
