quick things you should bring off the top of my head:
1. a headlamp, and probly some more flashlights. power goes down a lot
2. cliff bars or sth like them, and a lot of them. the food kinda (really) sucks sometimes.
3. lonely planet, east africa. for real their the best
4. a silk liner or some other small (stress small) sheet that you can have with you
