In the grand scheme of things I typically don't think of albums as overrated because it's subjective. That is why you get so many people agreeing about some and then some jump in and say "no such thing" or "stupid question" etc. The closest thing I can think of would be groups like The Libertines or Oasis. I've never been a big fan but they have some die hard fans. As far as those time frames of music go I thought they were fine but I think there are far better groups with a lot less drama. |

on this site, yea. but in most places MoP is far more acclaimed. I would agree that its overrated to some extent, cuz its not even my favorite Metallica album, but its still a great album. |

08.08.11 | I dont know 1,3,11,19,21,36,37,38,39,41,42,43,48,49 enough to have a solid opinion. I only think So Far, So Good... So What! never was overrated. This record always had mixed reviews (by critics and audiences) that think SFSGSW is their worst record of the classic era (I don't agree).
Very subjective I know, but these are some metal records I find overrated:
Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare. Few people agree with me on this
Sanctuary - Into the Mirror Black. 75% of the critics and die hard fans say this is their best album. In my opinion their debut is definitely better
Bathory - All records after Blood Fire Death
