The Greatest Guitar Solos

This is a personal list of my favourite all time guitar solos. Not the more essential, influential or rtechnical guitar performances.
1Pink Floyd
Pulse

David Gilmour-Comfortably Numb. Quite simple the best solo (and music) ever made.
Pulse's Comfortably Numb is my favourite version. David Gilmour's feeling on this
song will never be matched again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaoH25TaM-c
2Yes
The Yes Album

Trevor Rabin-Starship Trooper. 90125 Tour-Live 1984. Not the original version on The
Yes Album but the unbelievable Trevor Rabin?s solo on the 90125 Tour on Edmonton
Coliseum, Canada. This solo is perfect in every sense. Combines high technique with an
amazing feeling. This crescendo lead is unbelievably incredible.

3Pink Floyd
The Division Bell

David Gilmour-High Hopes. Probably the saddest solo I've ever heard. David Gilmour's
grand final sounds like life's final chapter. An old man final masterpiece. With effort,
dedication and talent, any musician can reach high level performances, but to make
this solo you need something else: True feeling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

4Judas Priest
Ram It Down

Glenn Tipton/ KK Downing-Ram It Down. The most amazing solo duet I've ever heard.
Unbelievably fast with an unique furious but still melodic feeling. It's that kind of solos
that you make only once, impossible to clone again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

5Van Halen
Van Halen

Eddie Van Halen-Eruption. If someone asks me how a Metal guitar should sound I
automatically say: Like Eddie's Eruption. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
