My Favorite Contemporary Albums

Simply my favie's from roughly 1990 until present. You will probably find it somewhat generic, you bastard.
1Weezer
Pinkerton

Emo, Power-pop, Nerdcore, whatever the heck you want to call it, this album is one of the best of its time. Also one of the best concept albums I can think of.
2Interpol
Antics

I will probably get a lot of flak for choosing this album, but as a whole I enjoy this one more. The music seems to tell a story, while not even presumably being a concept album.
3Tool
Lateralus

Progressive metal at its finest. So dark and brooding, its soundscape will leave you breathless. Top it off with Maynard's mantra voice, and you have yourselves a winner kiddies.
4Radiohead
OK Computer

This doesn't even need any comment. Words could never describe this work of art. /fanboy
5At the Drive-In
Relationship of Command

One of the forerunner's of the post-hardcore genre got a taste of the big time with this album. One Armed Scissor is still probably my favorite post-hardcore song.
6The Mars Volta
De-Loused in the Comatorium

We are given a trip though the life of Cerpin Taxt, and boy what an amazing trip that is. Especially considering we have some of the best musicians of the century taking us along the ride. (WHY DID THEY KICK OUT JON!1! WHY!!!)
7Smashing Pumpkins
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
8The Shins
Chutes Too Narrow
9Muse
Absolution
10Oceansize
Effloresce
