Arrows And Anchors Ranked
RIKKI TIKKI |
| 1 | Fair to Midland The Greener Grass
Even if the last few minutes are near-pointless when listening to the song by
itself, I couldn't bring myself to rate this any lower than the best song on the
album. Some of the most moving music I've ever heard, enthralling. It's already
moved me to glassy-eyedness. I just invented a word I think. That's how good it
is. |
| 2 | Amarillo Sleeps on My Pillow
When this song was first released I listened to it on repeat endlessly. I've
already amassed over 50 plays of the song. Wondrously, it hasn't grown of of
me in the slightest. It's a lot different from the rest of the album in that it
doesn't have FtM's more trademarked soaring chorus. It works for the better
though. I never would have expected a banjo to be used so effectively in a song
which essentially has a thrash metal chorus. It's so seamless, and quite frankly
fucking cool. |
| 3 | Golden Parachutes
This seems to be the general favorite among the userbase, and it's easy to see
why. "Golden Parachutes" is an apt title for the song - the ethereal mood it
gives off makes it feel like the listener is floating. Warm and fuzzy throughout. |
| 4 | Coppertank Island
The keys absolutely kill in this song. Possibly the highlight of the cd. Chorus
reminds me of Fables. |
| 5 | Whiskey and Ritalin
Fuckinnn' thrash riffszzz. Song has a pretty inoffensive chorus but the bridge is
the major highlight. |
| 6 | Short-Haired Tornado
One of the easier songs to get into
for sure, would make a great single. |
| 7 | Uh-Oh.
Darroh really belts in during the chorus. Could see this one being a single too. |
| 8 | Musical Chairs
Couldn't have picked a better single. Really enjoy listening to the rhythm
section in the verse. |
| 9 | Bright Bulbs and Sharp Tools
The drumming at the beginning if sexy and then the chorus unnhhh |
| 10 | A Loophole in Limbo
The least memorable song on the album but whenever I listen to it I enjoy
more than I remember. |
| 11 | Rikki Tikki Tavi
Song rules but even I cannot help but admit that it's very disjointed. Would love
to see it performed live though. |
