Albums I'm Currently Listening To

Just felt like doing a list of albums I'm listening to or loving right now.
1The Devin Townsend Project
Deconstruction

I'm loving this one. This album is immense, it's everything I love about the heavy side of Devin's music, and metal in general, really.
2The Devin Townsend Project
Ghost

Loving this one, as well. Also immense, but it's everything beautiful music should be, in my humble opinion. I wish I could make something this atmospheric and peaceful.
3Petrychor
Effigies and Epitaphhs

Only listened to this once, and I need to listen to it more, really absorb it, but I'm really digging their style. The atmosphere their music brings is to my liking.
4Porcupine Tree
Fear of a Blank Planet

Great album. Not new to this one, but revisiting it has been great. "Anesthetize" is likely my favorite track, when I saw them live with Coheed not long ago, them playing that song really stood out in my mind.
5In Flames
Sounds of a Playground Fading

I like it. I think they've gone in a good direction, and I want to hear more of the electronic sounds in their music. Also, many feel negatively toward Anders voice these days, but I like it. I especially enjoyed the mostly sang song "Ropes".
6Opeth
Still Life

This is just an amazing album, another I'm revisiting. This was the first Opeth album I ever got into. "Moonlapse Vertigo" and "The Moor" were the first songs by them to truly stick with me.
7Foo Fighters
Wasting Light

Foo Fighters have managed to put out quality songs consistently their entire career, even if you think of any particular album as a hiccup, in my opinion, every single album has contained some new Foo Fighters songs I'll remember forever. They're just quality rock, for me.
8The Black Dahlia Murder
Ritual

Fantastic. I need to give this more listens before I can decide where it ranks among their discography, but I enjoyed it a lot. And I liked some of the things they tried they haven't really done before.
9Demonical
Hellsworn

Dark, heavy, evil sounding metal. Their guitar tone is monstrous. I definitely need to explore more of their discography.
