05.05.07 | Don't, I have the same problem with the falling asleep part. I could be ;istening to the heaviest most aggresive stuff and I'd still go to sleep. Basically I sit up in my bed. |

05.05.07 | Whenever I'm bored, I'll usually download a new album, pull up the lyrics on some website and just follow along to get the full effect and all. |
IsItLuck?
05.05.07 | oh. After I buy a CD, I listen to it on my computer. Whenever I'm on my computer is mainly when I listen to multiple full CDs. Or listening to it in my car. I don't need a particular mood. If it's good, then the experience is there already. |
Mikesn
05.05.07 | Pretty much all of them but 4. Usually 2 though. |

05.05.07 | It really depends on my mood and the album. I put a CD in my CD player every night for about an hour before I go to bed, and it usually just puts me to sleep after a while. I also listen to music on the bus, and when Im just sitting at the computer... I pretty much just listen to music all day. But usually when listening to music I just sort of lay on my bed with my headphones on and my guitar on my chest and listen, and sort of strum my guitar. Not really play along with it, but it just gives me something to do with my hands. |

05.06.07 | This list actually addresses a question that I have had for a while. And that is "do particular types of music need to be listened to in a certain manner?" For instance, I like to play one particular online game (Guild Wars) and turn the actual sound track down and listen to post/sludge metal bands like Isis, Pelican and Agalloch while playing - whereas other bands require headbanging and need more direct concentration (in my case, thrash and melo-death) and so I wouldn't play the game and listen to them. I could list countless other examples regarding other music types, but could it be that the reason that people don't like certain types of music is because they haven't discovered how to listen to them? |

05.06.07 | The best is to listen to the album while on a bus trip. You have to listen to the album all the way through the first time, and if you're doing something else, you don't really notice it. |
Altmer
05.06.07 | 1 and 4 most commonly but occasionally 2 and 3 |
Yazz_Flute

ValiumMan
05.06.07 | Mostly 3 for me. I actually take walks in the city for the main reason of listening to music, no joke. I also like sitting down and listening to music, but meanwhile, doing something that accompanies it, like reading stuff about the band/album I'm listening on t3h int4rw3bz. There's also stuff I'll put on as background music for studying etc. like Sunn O))), Pelican or Cluster.
I almost exclusively listen to albums, BTW, even though I don't really buy CDs. |
Monticello
05.06.07 | I just listen to a CD pretty much as soon as I get home. If I have something else to do as well, then I'll do that while listening. If I didn't get as much as I could've out of that listen, then I listen to it again later. |
Brain Dead
05.06.07 | When I'm studying, I'll throw on something really upbeat and anthemic, like Blind Guardian and Shadows Fall. It inspires me to get through a normally tedious experience. When I listen to something like Neurosis or Isis, I give it my full concentration. I can't really appreciate the subtle dynamic shifts and epic climaxes if I'm focused on something else, whereas more aggressive and accessible music can be comprehended and enjoyed while doing something else (for me, at least). |

05.06.07 | I've done all those. |
