Top Songs Of 2011 So Far
Lots of stuff I haven't heard yet. One song per artist. Feels like I'm
forgetting some stuff but this is what I came up with in 5 minutes. |
1 | Manchester Orchestra Simple Math
If this gets beat it's going to be one of the best songs of all time. The music
video is breathtaking. |
2 | Hawkboy Two Bit
Epic. |
3 | Wu Lyf Spitting Blood
The end of Heavy Pop might be the moment of the year though. |
4 | Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues
Album is alright but this song... |
5 | Red Feed the Machine
Disappointing album minus this song. |
6 | Death Cab For Cutie You Are A Tourist
Riff of the year. |
7 | Storyline Take Me
Not really my typical thing but this song has the potential to be a MASSIVE
radio hit. It's Paramore-y. http://storyline.bandcamp.com/track/take-me |
8 | Bon Iver Calgary
Waiting for the release date to listen to this because I haven't really been in the
mood. But this song makes me optimistic. |
9 | Emery I Never Got To See The West Coast
I freaking loved this song live. They played it acoustic and it was really intimate
and stuff. |
10 | Jeff Jacquay World's Record Trophy
Lo-fi indie folk. http://jeffjacquay.bandcamp.com/track/worlds-record-trophy |
11 | Kye Kye Rooftops
Eisley but better. |
12 | Laura Stevenson and the Cans Master of Art
There isn't really a definitive song in my mind from this yet but it's a very solid
album. |
13 | Glassjaw Vanilla Poltergeist Snake
Not my normal thing but I dig it. |
14 | Marksmen No Sound For You
Unabashedly rips off Manchester Orchestra (I mean the singers look the same,
have the exact same voice, and they both have beards!) but still very good.
