South of Heaven
This album, although not speed metal is the best slayer album because a slow death is a painful and awesome one at that. Still classic slayer with the killer riffs, demonic solos, wicked drumming, and inaudible bass, but with a twist. best songs are, South of Heaven, Silent Scream, Live Undead, and Spill the Blood. | | 2 |  | Slayer
Reign in Blood
Reign in blood is a masterpiece no doubt, but I find it to be too short, clocking in at under half an hour, but the sheer brutality and speed more than makes up for it. best songs are, Angel of death, Altar of Sacrifice, Jesus Saves, Epidemic,Postmortem, and Raining Blood. | | 3 |  | Slayer
Hell Awaits
Hell Awaits is fucking evil, but still something was quite missing, the solos sounded a bit out of place, and the production wasnt up to par with their later releases, but none the less a damn good album. best songs are, Hell Awaits, At Dawn They sleep, and Hardening of The arteries. | | 4 |  | Slayer
Seasons in the Abyss
Seasons is still an awesome album even though it comes in number four, because they didnt really take anything a step further they just kind of mixed together Reign in Blood and South of Heaven, and sure awesome results followed,but it didnt have that freshness that slayer albums usually have. Show no Mercy
Show no mercy was awesome in its own right, but it was missing a whole lot of feel and personality, and the production is similar too that of venom's black metal, which means that the production is shit, but underneath that you find a hell of an album. best songs are,The antichrist,Metal storm/face the Slayer,Fight till death, and Die by the Sword. | | 6 |  | Slayer
Divine Intervention
Divine loses major points for not having dave lombardo, but paul bostaph does an alright job, the guitars sound weird, and the drumming isnt as good as it used to be, but the solos are the best part of the album...probably the best solos in a slayer record period, but that cant save this album. best songs are, Killing Fields, Ditto head, Circle of beliefs,Divine Intervention, and Mindcontrol. | | 7 |  | Slayer
God Hates Us All
Now dont get me wrong this album is good but it just doesnt really sound like slayer, the solos are nothing but wah filled shit props to kerry king, but the drumming is spectacular almost up to lombardo's standards, the vocals are in your face and real, and the guitar sound is brutal, but still not enough to save this album. Best songs are, Disciple, Threshold, Warzone, and Payback. | | 8 |  | Slayer
Christ Illusion
Slayer said that they went back to their old school sound, but to tell you the truth they were even further from it then God Hates Us All, The aggression seems so forced,the production is bland,the solos are not up to par with their earlier releases, and the guitar riffs are so bland and reused throughout this whole mediocre album, the same old chugga chugga palm muting shit over and over again.
