Ok.
All of the bands you listed are extremely popular. They don't have "songs that no on knows". You're not going to defend AX7 and AFI by saying "Powerslave" is a good album. Are you talking about early versions of some of these bands, like Green Day and Metallica? Everyone knows that the earlier versions of both of these bands were good and their most recent albums were bad. Woohoo, congrats for liking a great band (Maiden) and a couple of bands that were good. But saying something asinine like "someone listens to songs by these guys that no one knows" as a way of explaining shitty bands is really bad.
I guess I shouldn't attack someone's musical tastes but if I had to pick a cliche Sputnik-troll list like half of these bands would be here. |

05.11.11 | Alright then watch me defend. When I say "someone listens to songs by these guys that no one knows" I think it's obvious that I mean their lesser known songs and not all bands here, because it's obvious you are refering to AFI, My Chemical Romance, and Avenged Sevenfold specifically. For example, my favorite AFI albums are The Art Of Drowning and Black Sails In The Sunset. I've never seen people go around listening to songs such as Malleus Maleficarum or Smile. For Avenged, my favorite album is Waking The Fallen. Recently, I've taken an extreme liking to it, and I can't believe how great some of the songs are, (Second Heartbeat, I Won't See You Tonight, Eternal Rest). Next up, Powerslave. It's not a "good" album in my opinion. It's the best album ever in my opinion. That, The Number Of The Beast, Brave New World, and A Matter Of Life And Death are my favs. I'm 14, I have yet to experience everything out there. But for now, these are the bands I love. |

05.11.11 | Welcome to Sputnik. Hopefully we can help broaden your musical horizons. The Chili's are good, Foo's have some good albums, early Green Day is respectable. Can't really speak to the others, but keep an open mind and you'll do fine here. |

05.11.11 | ^ Thank you! I'd love to learn about more music through this site. My goal is to always have a new favorite band every year (2 years ago it was AFI, last year it was Maiden, now it's AFI again). The more you know, the better and I hate that the only music my friends suggest to me is Metalcore. Asking Alexandria this, Black Veil Brides that. I'd love to get into earlier bands. |

05.11.11 | If you're looking for earlier bands check out Black Sabbath. Basically the original heavy metal band. |

05.26.11 | ok GreyShadow whoever rec'd you asking alexandria, dont even bother with them, stay away from them or you will utterly regret it. Great Metalcore for you to check out would be Botch. They are a mix of metal/hard/mathcore but they are amazing at what they do, and Asking Alexandria dont know how to implement synth-transitions into their music and well they use wayyyy too many cliches
