05.07.11 | So your kinda a fan? |
aok
05.07.11 | 'The Butcher' and 'These Are my Twisted Words' are probably good enough to ease their way onto the list, but they've been getting a lot of buzz on their own so yeah.
If I forgot one of your favorite B-sides please post it and feel free to tell me how awful / awesome my taste is as usual. Oh, and list is ranked approximately in order, so 'Talk Show Host' is my fav b-side, 'Paperbag Writer' is #2... |
aok
05.07.11 | opinions vary greatly of course, but these are some of my favs. radiohead fans would definitely enjoy all 12 listed and actually most of the honorable mentions as well |

05.07.11 | "'The Butcher' and 'These Are my Twisted Words' are probably good enough to ease their way onto the list, but they've been getting a lot of buzz on their own so yeah."
Are you speaking some weird radiohead language? I don't get it |
aok
05.07.11 | i'm speaking in i just pulled an all-nighter and am exhausted but can't sleep language.
just trying to draw attention to new tracks, and since 'These Are My Twisted Words' and 'The Butcher' are more recent releases, the chances are people have already heard of them |

05.07.11 | @stokes if your friend's reliable, i'd be intrigued to see his list. they've released tons and tons
of stuff, and i've only had the opportunity to get through some of it, so i'm always on the lookout
for more gems. also yea, the romeo + juliet's actually just the best 'talk show host' i found on
youtube just on sound quality. figured you'd tab away if you didn't approve |
aok
05.07.11 | sweet dude -- keep me posted.
in the mean time, all of these tracks are freakin sweet, so check 'em out |

05.07.11 | awesome list man |
NigelH
05.07.11 | Lucky, greatest Radiohead song ever? I mean, I know it's not your list Stokes, but no way Jose. Mine would probably be:
1. Paranoid Android
2. There, There
3. Bodysnatchers
4. Everything In It's Right Place
5. Just
6. Pyramid Song
7. Airbag
8. You And Whose Army?
9. Lotus Flower
10. How To Disappear Completely
I could think of about 30 other songs that could warrant inclusion though.... |
NigelH
05.07.11 | All I Need is an epic tune. Not my favorite, but a powerful fucking song nonetheless. |
vanderb0b
05.07.11 | Where Bluebirds Fly and Talk Show are among my favorite Radiohead songs. Haven't heard everything on the list yet, but what I have is pretty good. |
aok
05.07.11 | @andy - blow into this paper bag. go home, stop grinning at everyone ;) . had to look up spooks and the thief, and really enjoyed the former (never really appreciated can much tbh).
@yotimi, nigel, qwe. really enjoy those 3 but i happen to like a few others more
@chamered. definitely. i happen to like the version on com lag better than the original though |
aok
05.07.11 | wow, i was so tired last night and much of what i wrote makes no sense. stokes -- thought it was a b-side list, but cool to see any well-thought out top 10 i s'pose. lucky was the first radiohead song that really grabbed me so it's cool to see some recognition there and 'true love waits' is a gorgeous tune so that's cool to see too.
@vander - i absolutely adore where bluebirds fly =). list is mostly in order in the sense that talk show, paperbag go 1,2 cause that's (inexplicably) top 5 for me |
ferociouslettuce
05.07.11 | the butcher |
mothercountry
05.08.11 | Banana co. |
qwe3
05.09.11 | "Lucky, greatest Radiohead song ever? I mean, I know it's not your list Stokes, but no way Jose"
lucky is definitely their best song |
Trebor.
05.09.11 | Talk Show Host
Maquiladro |
North0House2
05.09.11 | Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit, and Weird Fishes are their best songs, hands down. Just saying. |
qwe3
05.09.11 | lol street spirit |
North0House2
05.09.11 | Dude, that song is so cool. |
NigelH
05.09.11 | Street Spirit is legit. |
aok
05.09.11 | street spirit is the catalyst for radiohead as you know it. it should never be dismissed |
NigelH
05.09.11 | Good point. |
Trebor.
05.09.11 | Street Spirit is in my top 20, but not my top 10. |
Iamthe Nightstars
05.09.11 | Can't believe no one said "Lift" yet. |
NigelH
05.09.11 | I don't even think Street Spirit is in my top 20, but I respect it's role in the Radiohead canon. |
Iamthe Nightstars
05.09.11 | And True Love Waits is a classic. |
aok
05.09.11 | ^ =). also, never even heard of lift so that's cool to hear.
considering i just lol'd at my own 'top 40' radiohead song list i made 3 months ago, i would go ahead and say that arguments over the *best* radiohead songs ever are really quite silly endeavors. just give respect to the tracks that deserve it and listen to the ones you like the most |
qwe3
05.09.11 | there are so many better radiohead songs than street spirit i dont even |
Iamthe Nightstars
05.09.11 | Yeah, there's a pretty good video of it. It's a live though, they never recorded it. I wish they did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3-4fK8h8ig |
aok
05.09.11 | yea, i youtubed it and found that same clip. nice little addition i'd say -- you familiar with all the ones i posted? 'gagging order' is a similarly-ish veined track you'd probably enjoy then
@qwe, even though i disagree with you, i can see how you would consider it one of the lesser tracks they've recorded. having said that, read some of the stuff thom yorke has said about the track (wiki it, google thom yorke street spirit interview or sth) -- you can't cast something that personal and meaningful to a band aside |

06.19.11 | Thank you so much for introducing me 11 |
