Top 5 Most Overrated Albums

Let's all remember that this is just my opinion, of course.
5Metallica
Metallica

A.K.A the "sellout album". I was thinking about putting AJFA here, but this
album seems to be the more popular one for reasons I just can't understand at all.
Fans of Metallica have stated many times that "just because they changed
doesn't mean they suck!" Correct. Change can be a very good thing for a
band. It wasn't very good thing for Metallica. Why? Because *gasp* the
album Metallica isn't that good, nor is anything else after it. This album is
known mainly for the hits Enter Sandman and The Unforgiven, both
mediocre and overrated songs. As far as songs I like go, Nothing Else
Matters isn't that bad, but that's about it. Overrated album is overrated.
4Judas Priest
British Steel

Maybe Sad Wings of Destiny and Stained Class spoiled me too much, but
British Steel to me felt like a major step down in terms of quality and
musicianship. Many of the songs just sound bland and uninspired, with the
only standout tracks being Breaking The Law and Metal Gods. Honestly, I
felt that Mike Stagno's review of the album was spot on.
3Iron Maiden
The Number of the Beast

I'll go ahead and admit that I'm a much bigger fan of Paul Di'anno-era Iron
Maiden than Bruce Dickinson-era Iron Maiden. That doesn't mean I don't
enjoy Iron Maiden with Bruce. In fact, I still love Iron Maiden with Bruce.
However, there was always one album that I never truly understood the
critical acclaim for. Ladies and gentlemen, that album is none other than
The Number of the Beast. My main problem with this album is that it is
LOADED with filler. Save Run to the Hills and Hallowed Be Thy Name, and to
a MUCH lesser extent The Number of the Beast, no other track really stands
out. I mean honestly, does anyone even remotely like Invaders?
2Slayer
Reign in Blood

Now let's get one thing straight here: playing as fast as you can does NOT
automatically make a good thrash metal album. Reign in Blood suffers the
problem of a lot of the songs sounding almost completely similar to other
songs off the album, while others try to be Angel of Death 2, but end up
falling flat on their face. The only real credit I would give this album is Angel
of Death, as well as Raining Blood (although to a somewhat lesser extent).
1Metallica
Master of Puppets

One word:
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING.
Master of Puppets suffers from having plenty of long, drawn out songs that
never actually go anywhere. Leper Messiah, Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Orion, and
The Thing That Should Not Be are the main victims of this. Now, that's not
to say that I flat-out hate the album. Battery and Disposable Heroes are
great tracks that I don't fall asleep trying to listen to. Damage, Inc. is a
fairly decent track, but the intro is basically an entire minute of the same
repetitive and bland sound. And alas, the title track. Overrated? Yes. Bad?
Not really. I'm a sucker for the beginning riff and I love the little solo in the
middle of the song. It would benefit, however, by kicking off at least 2
minutes. I rarely like songs that go past the 6 minute mark.
