History

From beginning to end. The most impacting albums upon my musical taste within the past 5 years. From start to present.
15Relient K
mmhmm

Yeah, this is where I started. I used to think Relient K were the top dogs in music, ever. Haha, I haven't listened to them in years, can't really stand them anymore.
14Falling Up
Captiva

I don't really like this album at all anymore. It just annoys me. But, I used to really enjoy it.
13Switchfoot
The Beautiful Letdown

This is such a nice album. Still is. I remember taking roadtrips through Monument Valley with this guy playing in the car's CD player. Those were the nice days, when that small middle school essay was all I had to worry about.
12MxPx
Life in General

Yeah, I used to love MxPx. Their music feels so empty now. But hey, I still love some of the nostalgia I get from listening to those infectious little punk songs.
11Anberlin
Cities

The best Anberlin album, hands down. I used to think this thing was majorly artistic and just couldn't be outdone. This album marked the age when I started to look into more experimental music.
10The Classic Crime
The Silver Cord

Ah, I loved this album. I can still see why, it has some seriously beautiful songs. This was when I still only listened to Christian music.
9Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

A few summers ago I was sick as anything for a good year. This album got me through that, without a doubt. Still a classic in my mind, always will be. Once I heard this, I never went back to listening to mainstream music.
8Band of Horses
Everything All the Time

I used to only listen to indie music. This was my top indie album back in the day. Kind of my breaking point from more mainstream music.
7Ten Kens
Ten Kens

Summers ago I listened to this nonstop... It still is one of those albums that I listen to constantly. It remains one of my favorites. Primarily instrumental songs, such as Bear Fight, helped push me towards my eventual love for instrumental music.
6Explosions in the Sky
The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place

Your Hand in Mine was the first post-rock song that I had ever heard. I was floored. I've been working on learning this on the piano for about 4 months now, and I finally completed it... YHIM remains one of my most sentimental songs. The Earth is EITS's best release to date.
5This Will Destroy You
This Will Destroy You

First heard this on an Indie podcast, somehow. I loved it. Again, shot me down the stream of post-rock.
4 Godspeed You! Black Emperor
F#A#(infinity)

Exudes class, this album is timeless, it will always be one of my favorites. Again, helped to lead me down the path of more obscure music, you could say. Listening to Providence at this very moment.
3Slint
Spiderland

My absolute favorite album. Don Aman is the exact description of my mental disposition. Helped get me into more unorthodox music.
2Pianos Become the Teeth
Old Pride

Post-hardcore. I heard Young Fire on Youtube by random chance. Clicked on the rest of the songs, and fell in love with this style of music. Rosetta's Wake/Lift was originally here, but I decided that post-hardcore was something I listened to more often than post-metal
1All the Empires of the World
Blessings

Beautiful. I've slowly shifted down the stream of more ambient and relaxing things. I like heavy stuff a lot though, so this is the perfect combination of the two and where I'm at in regards to music at the moment.
