Death Of The Earth

I've been toying around with the concept of a soundtrack for the end of the world for a little while, here's the best that I was able to come up with. Any recs/thoughts on the topic would be cool.
1Guiseppe Verdi
Missa da Requiem

Dies Irae in particular. Absolutely overwhelming piece, the first half (especially in the performances that make good use of the timpani) feels like being engulfed by all of hell.

Paysage d'Hiver

The Norse concept of Fimbulvinter, or of the Earth freezing and becoming an icy wasteland as humanity deteriorates, has always fascinated me (as did, really, all Norse mythology). Album brings the grim and the hate, while the violin brings teh melancholy.
3 Alexander Scriabin
Vers La Flamme

This piece was written by the eccentric composer about a personal theory he had that the Earth would implode due to accumulation of heat. The music starts of with soft, foreboding chords, but soon accelerates into a dissonant inferno.
4 Samuel Barber
Adagio For Strings

By far the least violent piece on the list; rather than fury or anger, the Adagio evokes regret.
5Deathspell Omega
Paracletus

Consumes the listener in a sea of dissonance.
