Overratted!!! (bands)

First off sorry for posting back to back days, I will not be posting again for a while, got too much schoolwork. Here?s a tricky definition: Overrated. It?s very subjective, and finding a band that is overrated is more a personal response more than anything. Is it; 1. The band is very successful, both critically and monetarily, and don?t really deserve full praise? 2. A band that is overplayed and overpraised? The band might inherently have good music, but its played constantly on the radio, and it?s the buzz of the media. Consequently media and friends take a band you enjoyed or tolerated, and instead turn it into something of loathing; ?They really aren?t that great.? 3. A band who gathers masses attention, and once you listen to the music, it eludes you as to the fame. Simply HOW? I?ll go with the last one, because those are the ones I believe are indisputably overrated. Everyone hears about bands through different outlets, and some are hyped more than others. (Think Beatles, Tool, Eminem, Metallica?) I like music from each of these artists, but to a degree these bands are overrated. The level of mass praise does not equal the amount of love for the band. Success is not always directly related to their musical talent. I?ve compiled a list below that truly never deserved the attention they received. I am going to avoid newer artists because greatness, and eventually overratedness is only appreciated in time. Ones that were labeled as ?classic? and I find I?m not enjoying hardly anything from the band. Truth: When something is labeled a classic, and listener finds it?s mediocre, it adversely makes the listener aggravated and spiteful toward the music.
