| Negging My Leprechaun Review And Book Discussion Is Happening Today Now
this is like stealing the leprechaun's gold. it was the best review i've written since the one i wrote before it and you are retarded if you negged it and if you neg it because of this list i will get in a bunch of alt accounts and pos it a million times and I WILL FIND YOU and i also wanted to discuss books in this thread so yes | | 1 | | r.e.m. green
speaker for the dead - book 2 in the ender quartet, OSC gets a bit too preachy here and the ending was drawn out and gay but overall a pretty fun and fascinating read. more mature than ender's game but not nearly as fun. | | 2 | | dinosaur jr. green mind
a clash of kings - book 2 in george rr martin's song of ice and fire series, this is fantasy at its fucking best because there aren't any overused tolkien cliches, you could replace the characters with mobsters and change the setting to new york 1950s and it'd be just as awesome | | 3 | | r.e.m. murmur
junky - the second burroughs book i've checked out, this was pretty good and easy and i will never be doing heroin now. not that i ever was anyway but still. i liked this a lot but naked lunch was a bit more fun but junky was a hell of a lot easier to digest | | 4 | | pixies surfer rosa
the rum diary - it was pretty good but a lot of it was kinda boring because "we got up, ate eggs and bacon and then went to work and then at night we went to al's bar and drank a shitload of alcohol" takes up at least 50 pages | | 5 | | the beatles rubber soul
the rules of attraction by bret ellis, pretty good shit and i liked it a lot more than less than zero which i also really enjoyed but i don't think it was better than american psycho (not many books are imo) but i did love the rush reference in the book, i also liked how husker du, black flag, hunter thompson, talking heads, X and bunch of other cool guys were referenced as well but i dont get why lauren had to diss genesis and bret ellis portrayed genesis fans as dickheads cause its not like genesis fans really enjoyed phil's solo career so fuck you bret ellis but i still love you ALSO i love how pat bateman shows up in this book | |
aok
03.20.11 | saw rules of attraction, less than zero movies (robert downey jr is a 20 yo legit crackwhore) and was big into them -- gotta get around to reading the books since i do have a thing for bret easton ellis apparently (read american psycho and liked it a bunch). it is hilarious that the main character of rules of attraction is sean bateman, who actually shows up in the american psycho book as a dude that's just cooler than pat bateman. | psykonaut
03.20.11 | 3 and 4 are awesome books, i haven't read the rest although i have read ender's game. i love burroughs and thompson | kris.
03.20.11 | enders shadows better | aok
03.20.11 | i really enjoyed the unique filmmaking style of rules of attraction and i think it's a must if you read the book (though i haven't read the book so i can't compare them). with less than zero i didn't think seeing it filmed added to the storyline that already existed. but thas just me. i def gotta get to reading that one now though | FromDaHood
03.20.11 | Not gonna lie, you're one of my favorite Sputnik presences | foreverendeared
03.20.11 | A Storm of Swords is the best in the Song of Ice and Fire series. A Feast for Crows was disappointing, though still really fucking great. | Apollo
03.20.11 | Song of Ice and Fire is the shit. Not as good as the Wheel of Time though. | bailar14
03.21.11 | oh thanks for reminding me ill get right on that senor | foreverendeared
03.21.11 | I need to finish The Wheel of Time. I stopped like halfway through the 5th book because i got really busy, and then just sort of never picked it back up. |
