| Jimi Hendrix Ranked
Well, top 5 ranked I guess. I haven't heard all the random "albums"
that were put together after his death. | | 1 | | Jimi Hendrix Axis: Bold As Love
Jimi Hendrix's shining moment. Little Wing, Spanish Castle Magic, If 6 Was
9, Bold As Love, all brilliant. I don't know why I have such a hard time
finding people that agree with me on Hendrix's best album. Are You
Experienced? gtfo, this destroys it. I just picked this up on 180 gram vinyl,
listening now, so sexy. | | 2 | | Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland
He gets a little too carried away with himself on this record, but it's still
phenomenal. Probably a classic with less filler. | | 3 | | Jimi Hendrix Band Of Gypsys
Machine Gun. That is all. | | 4 | | Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced
Overrated, but still awesomely awesome. | | 5 | | Jimi Hendrix Valleys of Neptune
The only "Hendrix" studio album since Electric Ladyland that I've heard.
Pretty good stuff, what a shame that he died so early. | |

03.19.11 | I agree that Axis: Bold as Love totally rules and I'm with you - can't understand why it's always overlooked. It's also super impressive that he put that out in the same year as Are You Experienced. Shitload of quality in a short period of time.
At one point I thought Axis was clearly the best - I felt like it was a quality bunch of songs and it was more condensed and to the point. Then I thought that Electric Ladyland was the best provided I was in the mood for the extended jams on Voodoo Chile and 1983, but now I honestly rate those three studio albums equally. I don't own 3 and I think 5 is pretty sweet but not at that level. | Aids
03.19.11 | yah, his "big 3" albums are pretty impressive, nearly unparalleled in modern music history in terms of consistency and pure awesomeness. it's even more impressive considering he wrote and recorded it all in under 2 years. what an absolute legend. RIP | MO

03.19.11 | 2 is my personal favourite but everything he did in the 60's is awesome. |
