I get that people don't like it. I find it a bit overrated in that respect, and I much much prefer In Utero
But it is one of the most influential albums of all time and you cannot deny that |

03.13.11 | Pixies were far more influential than Nirvana |
eggsvonsatan
03.13.11 | Pixies should replace Nirvana.
List could also use some King Crimson. |
MusicIsMyFavorite
03.13.11 | Okay, maybe not number 1, but Trout Mask Replica needs to be SOMEWHERE on this list. |
MusicIsMyFavorite
03.13.11 | Hahaha really? The original members of the Clash listened to nothing but TMR for 10 months straight. Tom Waits COMPLETELY changed his sound after being introduced to Beefheart and went on to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Even The Pixies were heavily influenced by TMR. There's really no way to deny its influence unless you don't know much about it |

03.13.11 | good list, people who hate on Nirvana are really dumb. I don't think Trout Mask Replica had quite enough wide scale appeal to make this list. I'd at talking heads- remain in light and bob dylan- highway 61 revisited. but ya good list |
MusicIsMyFavorite
03.13.11 | Wide scale appeal didn't matter so much because it influenced musicians more than the public. I'd say if you can be cited as an influence for albums like London Calling and Velvet Underground & Nico and Doolittle, you've been pretty damn important
But yeah with lists like this there's really no way to get it perfectly right |
geng
03.13.11 | I'm not hating on Nirvana, I like them just as much as the next person. I just think its absurd to say that Nevermind is one of the 10 most influential albums in rock history. |

04.27.11 | i might be stretching it here, but i think an old Metalica record should be on here |
Motiv3
04.27.11 | these lists are always stupid because people have different opinions of what was more influential and then you miss bands like king crimson. |

04.27.11 | List isn't wholly incorrect it's just impossible to narrow it all down to just 10 records |

if you want something a little less obvious I'd add Can - Tago Mago. krautrock's influence can be seen throughout rock and electronic music |
