Black Metal Mixtape

10 cool black metal songs
1Drowning The Light
The Fading Rays of The Sun

Probably a seminal DTL track from one of his best releases. He definitely has some spotty albums, but "The Fading Rays of the Sun" is a song that shows the band has some real skill at times. The song has some really great melodies dispersed throughout and even though the production is rough, it adds to the song immensely (imo).
2Istapp
Koldens

Melodic black metal that is actually pretty good. There are some epic chord progressions and the clean vocals rule something hard. Think a slowed down, slightly more accessible Immortal (Sons of Northern Darkness era) with clean vocals from Vintersomething or other from Borknagar.
3Rhinocervs
Untitled 2

From RH-02 this uncredited band combines Belketre like aggression with Vlad Tepes' sense of melody and Epheles sense of mysticism. The beginning is really fast, brutal but it leads to this uber melodic bridge with some fucking brilliant melodies. A great, diverse song overall.
4Sump
Aim For Blood

Not from the original demo but the live version from the Autumn's Blood demo. Really catchy black punk.
5Arts
Perfumed Saturnine Angels

Arts performs raw black metal in a really really distinct style and "Perfumed Saturnine Angles" is a great example of that. Punky but dark, but also catchy and also kinda droney, it has all these elements executed perfectly. A black metal song that will get stuck in your head.
6Bilirubin
Antique Marvel

Bilirubin has so far only released one rehearsal tape but boy does it fucking rule. They kinda have a punk vibe but are also really atmospheric as well. The whole demo is pretty weird, but really melodic and really good. Definitely worth a visit.
7Clandestine Blaze
Call of the Warrior

If you haven't already, fucking check out Clandestine Blaze's last album 'Falling Monuments' because it fucking rules. "Call of the Warrior" is easily one of the most epic and best songs, starting off with a surprisingly punchy guitar line but leading into this massive, swirling tremolo picked guitar maelstrom back by this really awesome, solitary Cello(?) or something note. Fucking EPIC.
8Discordant Howls of Tormented

Another track from 'Falling Monuments', "Discordant Howls of Tormented" could be the black metal track from 2010. Great guitars lines, and AMAZING use of the organ, it gives the song this hellish feel that is just immense. Mikko's vocals sound menacing as fuck and overall this song just SLAYS.
9Axeman
Metnal

Coming from one of the best BTC releases 'Arrive' Axeman play a crusty, thrashing form of black metal that is both catchy and really aggressive. This song has an awesome solo and the main riff will have you headbanging for days to come.
10Fell Voices
2010 Tour CD-R Track 1

The ebb and flow of this track is just astounding, a great moving piece of black metal that contains great melodies, a nice focus on drone elements and just overall excellent, dense composition.
