| Trail Of Dead Ranked
I had lost interest. Who hadn't? Tao of the Dead has changed that. rCentury of Self was a rrrmeandering voyage, scattered with stand out rmoments. Tao of the Dead condenses and rrrcollects these bright sections. rAre they back? They're on their way. | | 7 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead So Divided
Disclaimer - Wasted State of Mind may be their best song. But this album's
production is too glossy, and the vocals seem strained. | | 6 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dea
Primitive song structure is the problem here. There seems to be only two tones
to the record (subdued and cryptic or loud and harsh). We do see potential.
Production is mostly to blame, but songwriting needs some help too. Solid
debut. | | 5 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead The Century of Self
Isis Unveiled opens on all 8 cylinders, then takes too long to deliver. Thus, we
have Century of Self. Too drawn out. | | 4 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Madonna
And now, onto the winners. The early 90's rap intro is a plus. But seriously,
this might be their most consistent effort. Most of these tracks are winners, but
this album lacks the delivery of both Worlds Apart and Source Tags. Great
effort. | | 3 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Tao of the Dead
It was tough to place this over Madonna. Their vision seems more fully realized
in this beautifully produced, synth-laden work. Summer of All Dead Souls, The
Spiral Jetty, The Weight of the Sun, Strange News | | 2 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Source Tags & Codes
Best vocal tracks of their discography. Keely's voice is more abrasive, and I
assume this is because his voice suffered from subsequent touring. How Near
How Far, Another Morning Stoner, Relative Ways | | 1 | | ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead Worlds Apart
Ode to Isis gives me chills (Maybe it's the blood-curdling scream?). The piano and guitars are well balanced all over this
album. Best production and songwriting. Worlds Apart, Will You Smile Again? The Lost City of Refuge | |

12.20.11 | uh source tags and codes is their best album bar none | Scoot
12.20.11 | We aren’t exactly a band, per-se, although we have put out a couple records. Mainly we are a self-help cult similar to Scientology, except instead of coming from another planet our leaders come from within the earth’s crust and cover their reptile bodies with simulacrums of a human exterior.
