07.01.06 | I'm so shocked at how Zen Arcade is so low on the list.
I also would expect Complete Discography to be between number 1-5.
Good list, though if I could I'd rearrange it a bit. |

How the hell can you put street light manifesto higher on the list than Discharge and the Specials? That band has influenced very few bands worth mentioning if any, and discharge is one of the most influential punk bands of the 80's and they inspired EVERY grindcore band, most metal bands, and they have an entire genre of bands ripping them off(D-beat).
As for the specials, they were the leaders of the two-tone movement and are probably the most well-known ska band EVER, unless madness is bigger(who weren't even mentioned on this stupid list by the way) Their album is WAY better than ANYTHING streetlight will EVER do also.
In addition to those massive flaws with your list, the Banshees aren't listed
There isn't a single oi band on it except for cock sparrer, who aren't even really oi, and had less impact than the cockney rejects or the 4-skins and their album is much weaker musically than anything by those bands.
The necromantix are included but the meteors aren't despite the fact that meteors are a much better band who have had, and will have much more influence over time.
There Isn't a single album from Japan or Germany where they had massive punk scenes(I think Slime, The Stalin, GISM, and Boshe Onkelz Deserve mention) |

07.02.10 | I think the list is nice, Streetlight Manifesto was what kept ska alive after the new millenium, Propagandhi is a bit too high, Supporting Caste is better than TETA, but if you consider it is prog-thrash, I understand, Sex Pistols is too high, Minor Threat and Refused are too low, NOFX, I would have put their Punk in Drublic album instead, the Ramones are too low... But overall, it is pretty much as I would have done, but I'd add The Lawrence Arms and Lagwagon. |
