01.31.11 | Isis - In The Absence of Truth
(or really, any of their albums, as each album is a different phase of an ongoing narrative. Though In the Absence of Truth follows a specific storyline more directly than the rest of their work) |

01.31.11 | KID A IS NOT A FUCKING CONCEPT ALBUM.
jesus christ "concept album" is not some endearing musical term you give to an album that makes you scratch your head. It is a pretensions term fan boys give to album for shitty bands that they love (dredg, dream theatre, tool etc ) to make them seem better or more complex than they are...that being said you don't have any Rush or The who- tommy so you can fuck off. |
psykonaut
01.31.11 | Mastodon - Leviathan/Crack the Skye
The Dear Hunter is only kinda good, but their discography is one big concept album, so you could check them out
also Godspeed - F#A# (Infinity) of course |

Zanders
02.01.11 | Pain of Salvation - "The Perfect Element", "Remedy Lane", "One Hour By the Concrete Lake", "Be" and "Entropia".
All of their albums are concept albums, but I'm not too fond of their latest ones. The albums above are listed in the order you should listen to them. |
Aids
02.01.11 | Pink Floyd - Animals is the best concept album

02.01.11 | "an album whose recordings are unified by some theme (instrumental or lyrical or narrative or compositional)"
by that definition all smiths album art concept albums because they all have happy instrumentation and sad lyrics.
Almost every album ever has a unified theme throughout dumbass...liked I can't really think of an album that doesn't. |
iSkane
02.01.11 | I like to think of concept albums that follow a story, or could be put to a story in the exact song line-up and fit perfectly. |

02.01.11 | couldwinarrabit chill out man!!

02.01.11 | yeah well i got that definition from a dictionary and dictionaries are the absolute truth, like the qu'ran. also who cares |
frankie
02.01.11 | Armor For Sleep's album What To Do When Your Dead is a concept album based around with a real cool story. Judging by your list of albums you may not like it but all the songs flow well into each other and they do a cool job portraying the emotions in the story with the instruments.
Also if you're into metal you can check out Iced Earth's album Horror Show. I haven't listened to it in years but I remember it being all about horror movies and whatnot and I remember liking it a lot. |
