Depressing Albums

these albums are all fucked up and will suck all positive emotion out of you upon listen.
1The Angelic Process
Weighing Souls With Sand

Melodic drone/shoegaze. Written and performed by one man (K.Angylus)
and one woman (M. Dragynfly). Angylus suffered a debilitating hand injury
and was told he was unable to play guitar for the rest of his life. He later
committed suicide, making this album that much more jarring.
2Sunny Day Real Estate
Diary

90's emo, an absolute classic in the genre and an album that paved the
way for countless imitators to follow. The lyrics are dark and mournful, and
the instruments are top notch. A must listen for any fans of the genre.
3Time To Burn
Is.Land

Atmospheric sludge/hardcore. Incredibly underrated concept album about a
colony of people being forced to live out the rest of their lives on an island.
The screams are tortured and despairing, and the overall tone of the album
is just so bleak. Check it out and do yourselves a favor.
4The Antlers
Hospice

Indie rock. Never before or since has it sounded so hopeless. This is a
concept album told through the eyes of a terminally-ill patient and a hospice
worker that cares for them. The soaring vocals of Peter Silberman can be
compared to Jeff Beck, especially in 'Epilogue', which happens to be one of
the best songs I've ever heard.
5Warning
Watching From a Distance

UK-based doom metal. Emotional, devastating, gripping - this album has
everything. Reminds me a lot of earlier Katatonia, except even more hard-
hitting. This is the perfect album to listen to after a harsh break up.
