qwe3 01.24.11	well 1 im pretty sure ive seen you say heaps of times that 2pac is and he's always been painfully average and 2 lil wayne is not all punchlines so yeah if you had said he was no substance during maybe the time before c2 or even c3 i might have been able to see your point but the reality is that the dude can rap. he has an incredible mind for off the wall similes, metaphors and free-assosciations which means so many of his raps are colourful and interesting listens. c2 is an impressive array of material. firstly you've got Tha Mobb which is 5 mins of brilliant, improvised braggadocio and the way the tracks are laid out on it, esp with tracks like fly in, carter II, fly out and the little skits (which are small enough that they don't disrupt the flow of the LP) give the record this sense of grandeur. in c2 he tackles things like regionalism in mainstream rap at a time when people looked down upon southern rap. he talks about love. he even (appropriately) talks about people misunderstanding him as a person or rapper. and yeah, he talks about himself a lot. he does it in such interesting ways though, for one example, metaphors he uses often pertain to certain parts of his upbringing. and they work. well. point is saying he didn't have depth, even before c3 just, to me, reeks of the uninformed. the dude has probably got the best flow around. His ability to ride a beat and switch it up is addictive. Sometimes he'll just resort to saying staccato bursts of words like there are periods in between each of them, then the next he'll be rapping in a completely different way. he has an incredible literacy to him, and this is only enhanced by a huge general knowledge. after c2 he released a slew of mixtapes completely for free. two of them have been hailed as two of the best mixtapes ever made. I see 50 cent complaining about lil wayne using mixtapes and saying shit like "that nigga is using what i invented" which is kinda redundant since dedication 2 surpasses anything 50 has ever done. then c3 happened. all at once he expanded his subject matter to include katrina, origin of self, a concept track about being a doctor healing hip hop (which is unfortunate because 2 patients are beyond saving), the extraterrestrial (as a way of describing the way he raps) etc. yeah idk i might write a review so its actually a together argument

I don't think that means anything at all, but it seems to be the kind of thing that would be regarded by you as meaningful. There aren't many people who are seriously into hip hop who completely write Wayne off, and certainly not C3.
