Aids 01.22.11	I mean I wish they were, they aren't as far as I know. Well I mean, they put out The Falcon Lake Incident without John Samson and chan says they've only been playing those songs live. So no, "The Weakerthans" are not touring. "Jim Bryson and The Weakerthans" are. So I mean it's a bit of a let down but hey it's better than nothing.
BigTuna 01.22.11	Yeah, but I'm pretty sure they're not on hiatus or broken up or anything. And The Falcon Lake Incident is more like The Weakerthans (including Samson, listen to the background vocals) helping out Bryson.

I'm not expecting to see The Weakerthans play "One Great City" in my neck of the woods any time soon. Unless they break it out with Jim Bryson (which Chan said they probably won't do)

I didn't even intend to point out that connection or even realize it when I made this list.
Butkuiss 01.22.11	1 and 7 are too too good. As for trip recs, you might like Team Sleep, Ulver's Perdition City, Ringfinger's Decimal (isn't really trip hop but damnit it's almost as good as Portishead in my eyes). Tricky is cool too.
